2015 – Scientific Culture

New Spanish Law of EducationScientific Culture is a compulsory subject taught in 1ºBachillerato (Students are 16 years old). Its objective is to give all students regardless of what they are specializing in, knowledge of key scientific issues (genetics, evolution, new medicines, new materials, biotech, etc). It is taught to three classes and 80 students.

CurriculumThe three teachers of the subject decide to implement a minimum of 1 materials per evaluation (3 materials/year minimum).

Spanish CoordinatorThe implementation of the Engage materials at CODEMA is coordinated by the University of Barcelona

Life on Enceladus - Activity Plan

Prior to ActivityScientific Culture teachers meet to organize when and how to implement the activity and prepare all materials needed. Students are informed on the Engage Project.

During the activityFollowing the Teachers Guide, the ppt with the info is show and the Following the Teachers Guide, the ppt with the info is show and the students in groups of four are given copies with the evidences and a conclusion sheet to organise them and reach a conclusion. Finally each group is asked to comment one evidence and their conclusion
