MY TEAM TOPIC
• Microclimate Observations:
What microclimates can you identify?
• Cool, Warm, windy and moderate temperature
What makes each one unique?
• The cool shaded areas given by buildings and the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.
• Warm, Sunny area in open spaces closets to the water.
• Wind around the building.
• Close to the water and under the sun
What conditions create each of the microclimate you have identified ?
• Since the place is around building, the building is around the sun and create wind. Materials
absorb the heat direct sunlight in open spaces.
• Moderate: Close to the water and near open space therefore the sunlight and the in land
breeze create mild temperature.
What could you do to modify the microclimate?
• Plant more trees
• Add different materials. Grass instead of concrete
• Build Sun Shelters
