Administrator MessageRocky Rockafellow
The new campaign has been released by Moose International, “Moose: Create Some Interest”. This campaign began on May 1, 2011 and runs until April 30, 2012. There will be four missions for this campaign. Mission one is “Tune In To Membership”. Sponsor two new or re-enrolled “Agents” to help us with the cam-paign and receive your very own spy radio pen. Each quarter will have a dierent Mission. Don’t forget, sponsor two new or former mem-bers and get next years due paid for by Mooseheart. The theme shirts are available at the Moose Supply Department now. We also have the International Convention in Anaheim this year June 30 through July 6. Here is great opportunity to wear your campaign shirt and get educated on what Moose Interna-tional is doing. If this would be your rst time at a convention, Mooseheart supply depart-ment will be there, the membership depart-ment will have displays on the dierent programs that the Moose are involved in, and there is lots of bonding with members from other Associations. Also your Desert Moose Legion 205 will be competing in the ritual com-petition. Come to the Convention and cheer on your team. In the social quarters your board of ocers have instated a new “Happy Hour”. No it is not a nap. On Thursdays from opening to closing we have $.50 o all drinks. On the second and fourth Thursday there is tacos for $1 or 6 for $5. On the other Thursdays we will be having a hotdog/polish sausage night. Come on down and enjoy. I want to thank all the members that worked at the Flea Market on the Fair Grounds. They spent a lot of time cleaning the trailer that was at your Moose lodge. They xed it up and cleaned it up, repainted it and washed every thing.
O
They along with all the other volunteers that cook out dinners, keep this place clean and serve your desires deserve our Thanks. Thanks again to all of you that do so much for us each month. Active Members – UP OURS – by one

OFFICE PRODUCTSTo All Moose Brothers and Sisters: As we start this new year, I wish to rst thank you for your condence in permitting me to ll the chair as Governor. Second, for those who missed the cermonies and food, hopefully, we will see you at one of our other dinners, functions or ceremonies, to enjoy the friendship and good times. Remember to post our calendar where you can review it and see the the many events happening at the lodge. Only you can make the Lodge successful and grow with your patronage. With today's economy, we know that it is dicult to attend every function, but drop by and enjoy the social quarters and events. There are a few members that put in a lot of time and eort to make your visit enjoyable, cause without these wonderful volun-teers and chairmen, there would not be a Lodge for you, I thank them all for their dedication and work, which at times may seem thankless, but never forgotten. Remember our general meeting on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday night a 7:00 pm, where you can express your concerns and suggestions, as well as, how the Lodge is progressing and upcoming events and programs from National. There is so much to be thankful for, from our forefathers to start such a Family Fraternity as the Moose, to assist our children and senior members. Until next month, have good thoughts, words and deeds, I bid you a good day.

Senior Regent’s MessageArleen Rodgers
Dear co-workers and brothers: I just got home from the Mothers Day Breakfast and it was great, thank you brothers The Flea Market could have gone better, but there are a few people I would like to thank. Without your help we would not have gotten it put together. First Lance for moving it to the lodge, and then steam cleaning it for us. Jane Groves without your help it never would have been done. Krista (I hope I spelled it right) you and Cody did all the painting on the outside and it looks great. It took us 2 days but it was worth all the hard work you put in, and you are both to young to be Members of the Lodge, but you are proof there are good kids out there. Walter, Ron, Hank, Mel, and cooks. Rocky for all you did, Jo Anne for all your help, Glenn, Donny, Jane,(again),and Alley for working The booth at the ea market. Kay Lanigan I forgot to get the names of the girls who helped you cut the peppers, I will get it for my next letter but thank you. We have sevarl dinners coming, check out the calender for information and come on out. We have a lot of good cooks here. We have Fathers Day Dinner coming up on the 19th. Come join us. We are having Tri Tip. If you have any questions or need any information remember you board of oces is here to help. Thank you Until next month Arleen Rodgers Sr. Regent 661-406-3410

VOLUNTEERS IN MOTION If you happened to drop by the Lodge on Thursday morning March 23, you would have seen LOOM Treasurer, Mike Dinsmore and his brother Patrick Dinsmore, a professional painter busy at work. You ask what were they doing? Mike and Patrick volunteered their time and repaired an eyesore inside the front glass doors. Water had stained the sheetrock around the window. The brothers set out to cut out the stained ceiling, was patched, and then primed for painting. LOOM member, Fred Lovio painted the repaired area. Patrick Dinsmore experienced with drywall, texturing, exterior and interior painting has special rates for LOOM and WOTM members. Members can call him with their room measurements for an estimate at (818) 314-9597, or if it is a bigger job, he can come to your home. The next time Mike and possibly Patrick are in the Social Quarters, or attending one of our dinners, how about extending a big thank you to them for A JOB WELL DONE. I now thank them by letting all the members know what was done for our Lodge. Also, have you noticed in the dining room the very ugly water stains on the ceiling panels that have accumulated and wondered why they had not been repaired? Each of us can look to Fred Lovio. While the Dinsmore brothers where busy in the foyer area, Fred had volunteered to apply a water stain sealer to the numerous stained ceiling panels and then painted them. Fred had his drop cloths laid down, along with paint cans and a ladder in the dining room. Fred took his day and sealed the panels which could be saved and replaced the ceiling panels which were too far gone. Once the sealer had dried, Fred applied a nice coat of paint to the panels turning the once ugly ceiling panels to a more pleasant sight. Fred Lovio is also a professional painter, does exterior and interior paint jobs, works with sheetrock and texturing. All WOTM and LOOM members get a special rate from Fred and will give references of his past work. Please support Fred with your painting needs by calling him at (661) 317-3733. Thanks Fred, your volunteer work has made our dining room 1000% better. SPECIAL THANKS to Louise Losey for donating in March and previous months for the many bags of paper dinner plates, paper napkins, coee and paper towels. Thanks Louise for helping the Lodge out every time. Another big thanks goes out to Bessie Sanders and Lorene Humphrey for their donations of paper goods, coee and tea to our Lodge. Bessie, Louise and Lorene you three are much appreciated by me and all. Also Big Thanks to Jack Lanigan for printing the Desert Moose Call every month. I want extend a thank you to him for helping out with my last dinner, Jack and Kay helped me, Marlene and Ted Lagne with the kitchen and dining room clean up. Kay and Jack are great and support-ing members of our Lodge.
