TRAINING The following process is a guide on how to train employees and contractors: 1. New Employee Orientation/Training – this training takes place within the first 60 days of employment. The topics covered are as follows: a. EKG Overview b. Private Security and the Criminal Justice System c. Overview of the Private Security Business (Code 43-38) d. Crime Awareness and Prevention e. Arrest and Proper Use of Force f. Liability g. Responding to Emergencies h. Ethics & Professionalism i. Respect in the Workplace j. Report Writing k. Public Relations (Customer Service) l. Paychex Flex/Time and Attendance software m. Conclusion and summary 2. On-the-job training (OJT) – every security officer must complete OJT for each site where he/she works. 2. On-the-job training (OJT) – every security officer must complete OJT for each site where he/she works. SSOs are security officers who have attained a BSO qualification, worked with EKG for at least one year, and completed the SSO course. The course description is included at the end of this section.

5. Site Supervisor – Site supervisors are either laterally hired from another company or are promoted from the SSO level. They must complete the Site Supervisor course, which focuses on policy, human resources, management and leadership. The course description is included at the end of this section.

6. Senior Management – Senior management includes either Area or Division Managers. Senior Managers are responsible for business units, and as such, training focuses on policy, human resources, management and leadership. The course description is included at the end of this section.

EKG uses Litmos™ online software (ekgsecurity.litmos.com) for training. The website houses training videos and end of course testing, and tracks each employee’s progress and completion of

required training. Employees or contractors will receive an e-mail from Litmos™ that directs them to the website so they can complete the course(s). Following is the path to course completion:

Section 1 Test – Employee must answer each question. The test is graded automatically when you submit your answers at the end of the section. It is recommended that the employee have a paper test to accompany each video so they have an idea what may be asked and what is important.

Basic Security Officer Course

Course Description and Outline – A combination of on-the-job training, videos and lectures are used to train Basic Security Officers in accordance with the Secretary of State of Georgia Board Rule 509-3 (http://rules.sos.ga.gov/gac/509-3). Training is conducted in accordance with the board rule and board decisions. Before a Basic Security Officer can assume a post, he/she must also undergo on-the-job training at their assigned site. After each section of instruction, trainees must receive a grade of 70% or better on the the graded test.

Course Description and Outline – A combination of on-the-job training, videos and lectures are used to train Site Supervisors in accordance with the Secretary of State of Georgia Board Rule 509-3 (http://rules.sos.ga.gov/gac/509-3). Training is conducted in accordance with the board rule and board decisions. While Site Supervisors are not a state mandated position, the position is part of the promotion pathway for EKG that shows the employee continues to accept increased responsibility and shows a willingness to continue to gain knowledge of the security industry.

Course Description and Outline – A combination of on-the-job training, videos and lectures are used to train Senior Leadership (President, Vice Presidents, and Managers) in accordance with the Secretary of State of Georgia Board Rule 509-3 (http://rules.sos.ga.gov/gac/509-3). Training is conducted in accordance with the board rule and board decisions. While Senior Leadership positions are not a state mandated positions, the positions are part of the promotion pathway for EKG that shows the employee has achieved a high level of knowledge and leadership and is capable of fulfilling a senior leadership role.
