Ms. Janet Hah (College Advisor) Ms. Tiffanie Tatum (ACC Career Coach)

Students are encouraged to read this bulletin carefully and to see their assigned counselor if interested in applying for scholarships as some scholarships will require nomination forms or letters of recommendation(s) to be completed by the counselor. Other scholarship bulletins will be published throughout the year; paper copies are available in the Counseling Office and this information will be posted on Google Classroom.

Scholarship information is sometimes received with little or no turnaround time for deadlines. Please pay close attention to announcements and posts on Google Classroom for any additional scholarship information.

Scholarship information requiring transcripts or other information from your counselor/teacher(s) such as a recommendation letter or nomination form should be requested a week to two weeks before the scholarship postmark deadline. It is very important that all information be submitted in a timely manner.

Please bring in your verification of any college/university acceptance letters and/or scholarship/financial aid offers you receive. You do not have to plan to attend the school that offers the scholarship.

If you are a male within 30 days of your 18th birthday or older, you MUST register with Selective Service. If you plan to attend college, you must be registered before you can receive any federal or state financial aid. Please visit www.sss.gov to register or for more information.

SAT/ACT Fee Waivers are available to students who receive free/reduced lunch or participate in federal or local approved programs. Please provide a copy of your approval documentation so that we may provide a waiver.

Potential college/university athletes should register with the NCAA Eligibility Center as soon as possible. If you plan to play a sport at a Division I or II school you must register in order to play. Please visit www.eligibilitycenter.org as soon as possible. If you have received a SAT/ACT Fee Waiver, please see Ms. Shackelford in the Counseling Office so that she may complete an Eligibility Center Fee Waiver.

NC Promise Tuition Plan is a program of the State of North Carolina established with the intent of increasing access to a quality education through the University of North Carolina system. Beginning fall 2018, NC Promise will dramatically reduce student costs at three UNC system campuses: Elizabeth City State University, Western Carolina University, and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke . Undergraduate students enrolling fall 2018 at any of those three institutions will pay only $500 for in-state and $2,500 for out-of state tuition per semester. The remaining cost of education will be covered through NC Promise. Campus-related fees for students and on-campus residency costs apply, so it is important for parents and students to understand the full cost of attendance.

Warren Wilson College NC Free Tuition Plan a program that guarantees every North Carolina undergraduate student who is eligible for federal or state need-based aid can attend Warren Wilson tuition-free. Milepost One will award full-tuition scholarships to 25 incoming students who family income levels are equal to or below $125,000 per year, expanding access to our out-of-state and middle-income families. Students must submit their application for enrollment and FAFSA.
