2018 Quarterly Newsletter MARCH 2018 QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER In December, more than 150 QUESTERS graduated from one of nine training programs supported by QUEST. QUEST graduated one of its largest nursing classes to date, with 55 Registered Nurses and 31 Licensed Vocational Nurses. According to Workforce Solutions Alamo, the Registered Nurse sector is expected to increase by 31% between 2014 and 2024, which makes it one of the fastest growing sectors in San Antonio. Adding 155 graduates is proof that Project QUEST continues to aid QUESTERS in achieving full-time, meaningful work in the San Antonio area. Last month, Father Al Jost dropped by to visit QUEST. Father Al was a founder of QUEST after the Levi Strauss closing in 1992. He was instrumental when it came to getting Project QUEST into the San Antonio community. We are very humbled to still be in Father Al's heart after all these years.

QUEST Happenings

February 2018

The Santikos Charitable Foundation, Simpson-Nooe Fund, and Valley View Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation awarded QUEST a $25,000 grant! Project QUEST will be able to pay for the licensing fees of 125 healthcare participants who are working toward a better tomorrow for their families. Without this kind of help from the San Antonio community, QUEST wouldn’t be able to support the people who rely on us the most. Thank you to the San Antonio Area Foundation for your continued support.

KENS 5 was in attendance for our Graduate Recognition Ceremony. They interviewed our Executive Director and two of our participants. This KENS 5 story helps get our name out within the community and also proves that Project QUEST is becoming a household name.

Team QUEST volunteered at the San Antonio Food Bank in September stuffing more than 5,000 backpacks for children in San Antonio. Not only are we strengthening San Antonio's  workforce, but we are also helping the future workforce.

In November 2017 we held our Silver Anniversary Luncheon, celebrating 25 years of impacting San Antonio's workforce. The event brought more than 500 guests to the Grand Hyatt San Antonio. In attendance were six elected officials, including Mayor Ron Nirenberg who delivered the keynote speech.  We were extremely blessed to have more than 40 grads/participants attend our event. We also celebrated our original founders for their years of continued support. Thank you C.O.P.S./Metro Alliance, City of San Antonio, Frost Bank, and Broadway Bank.
