While at school, children may need help with the management of their diabetes care programs, including: ◦ Testing and monitoring their blood glucose levels◦ Maintaining their daily insulin regimen◦ Eating regular amounts and calories of food on a regular schedule

What can you do?

◦ Be on the lookout for signs of high and low blood sugar.◦ Keep fast acting carbs available in case of emergency.◦ Act fast if you think your student is having a hyperglycemic or

hypoglycemic episode.◦ Be aware of changes in the student while in your care.◦ Keep in contact with nurse and parent as much as possible.
