Health and Safety – Example

The basis of British health and safety is the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

The Act sets out the general duties which employers have towards employees.

Health and Safety – Main body

The main requirement for employers is to carry out a risk assessment.

Employers with five or more employees need to record the significant findings of the risk assessment.

Health and Safety- Conclusion

It is the employers responsibility to:- Protect the health, safety and welfare of

employees and to safeguard others, especially the public who may be exposed to risks from work activity.
