Russia is the host country of the 21st World Football championship 2018

On January, 23 2012 Russia has officially received the status of the host country of the 21st world football championship 2018. Eleven Russian cities were chosen to carry out a football championship 2018 : Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Samara, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don,

Saransk, Sochi, Ekaterinburg

Kaliningrad is preparing to be a host-city for the World Football Championship 2018.

Why is Kaliningrad?-nice geographical position- available to European fans-advanced infrastructure- mild climate- developed tourism- good service

The poster symbolizes : - cleanliness of the ideas - the Baltic wave - the Baltic amber .

It will be constructed:

- The Stadium on the island - 4 training bases - The exhibition center- The center of innovations- The fan zone for football fans- The historical zone « Heart of city » with an

aqua park The center of water rowing sports.- Academy of tennis- Parking lots, hotels, bridges

- Lines for high-speed trams

It will be reconstructed:

an airport Khrabrovo2 stadiums « Lokomotiv» and « Red Star»- Quay of the river Pregolya-transport will be modernized - all city channels will be cleaned - old buildings will be reconstructed- old roads will be reconstructed

A new water international tourist route from Klaipeda to Kaliningrad will increase a stream of tourists from other countries to our region

The International Tourist Route« The World Way of Amber »

The world way of Amber will start in Kaliningrad area.

It was decided at the International Conference « Past -Present –Future » which took place in Vilnius

Tourist will have a chance to take part in the festival of amber « Amberfest » and the World Amber Catching Championship.

The right to carry out Olympiad and

the World Football Championship :

• means a recognition of Russia as a

strong sports player on international

scene.;

• promotes the development of

infrastructure in the country;

• will increase the stream of tourists ;

• will raise the prestige of the State.
