The Department of Physics & Astronomy, NITRourkela will be hosting Inter-University Centre forAstronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) sponsoredworkshop on “Astronomy & Astrophysics” duringMarch 9-10, 2018. This workshop will benefit toyoung researchers, M.Sc. and B.Tech. students whoare aspiring a career in astronomy & astrophysics asit will provide mentoring and training experiences tothem. The workshop will consist of series of lecturesdelivered by eminent research persons in the filed ofastronomy & astrophysics.

NIT Rourkela is one of the premier national levelinstitutions for providing science & technical educationin the country. The main objective of the Institute is toproduce quality engineers and scientists in graduate andpost-graduate levels in various branches of engineeringand science. The department of Physics and Astronomyoffers undergraduate and post-graduate programs aswell as doctoral research program for motivatedstudents looking forward to pursue a career in physicsand astronomy.

Travel and local hospitality will be provided to alloutstation participants (M.Sc./B.Tech. - SL Class,Research Scholars/Faculty – IIIAC Class). The travelexpenses will be reimbursed on production oftrain/bus tickets as per the Institute rules.
