• Aerial basal-bark application on coastal cliffs

MT RICHMOND

Control being undertaken by

• Nelmac, on Nelson City Council reserves

• Department of Conservation (Motueka, Nelson Lakes, South Marlborough) within Mt Richmond Forest Park

• Forestry companies, on fringes

NELMAC PROGRAMME

Wilding pines

• on low-stature vegetation of mineral belt

• elsewhere, after cessation of grazing/burning

• Primarily P. radiata, P. menzeii

METHODS

• Mainly felling

• Some stem injection

DOC PROGRAMME

• To be covered separately

FUTURE MANAGEMENT

• New management plan funded by Nelson Forests, Tasman Bay Forests and TDC

• Recommends a more comprehensive and co-ordinated programme across Mt Richmond.

ABEL TASMAN NATIONAL PARK

• Management plan funded by ATBT

• Programme being implemented by ATBT

• Into its 3rd year of control

• Some additional work being funded by Project Janszoon.
