During this time, Mrs. Troccolo and I have small group instruction or one-on-one conferences with students.

Then they go off and read on their own for a minimum of 20 minutes.

Lastly, we will come back together for our closing share.

Reading Expectations

• According to the CT State Standards, students are to read and respond to 25 JUST RIGHT books this year!

• Students are to read for a minimum of 15 (later will become 20 then 30) minutes each night

• Students are to log their reading EVERY DAY

• More importantly, students are to

READ, READ, READ!!!

• Homework is the STUDENT’s responsibility (you all already went through 3rd grade!)

• Every night, students will have Math, Spelling (on full weeks), Language Arts skills, plus Reading and filling out reading logs!

• Your student will also know what special they have the next day!

Hand in your homework from each night ON THE DAY IT IS DUE! (Personal Responsibility)

CMTs…No that doesn’t stand for Child Mind Torture (although it should!)-3rd Grade is their first CMT experience

• Agreements: 1. Only talk one at a time.
