What is a Webmaster Tool
• It is one of the important part of an SEO.• Its an online tool of Google wherein we submit sitemap details to
Google.• It is a kind of communication to google wherein we can adjust on
aspects of how google sees our site. For e.g-internal & external links, crawl rate, keywords and many such more(*crawling-process of transferring data from the search engine to its database)
Getting Started• Firstly log in to your gmail id on https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/• Then click on add property and add the website you need to track.
First let us see through the Recommended Method• Download the HTML
Follow the below steps• Save it on your local folder and upload it from your local site to the remote site• Confirm the same by clicking on the website• Go to the google webmaster page and click on verify
• Then click on continue
• Then click on search console and view details
Here is what you get-then click on submit sitemap
You will land to this page then-click on add sitemap and enter the sitemap url of your page-Now your sitemap is successfully submitted to Google Webmaster
Now lets try through the Alternate Method by firstly clicking on add property and then selecting Alternate Method
Copy the HTML code in the <head></head> of your webpage
Lets see how do we do it on a Blogger
• Click on template and edit HTML
Paste it on the title section of the HTML Code and save and check visiting the blog if it has been mentioned (by clt U)
Few Points to Remember
• Property here means the domain or the website
• Ideally,We can add 50 such properties in Google Webmaster
Tool
• It helps in Indexing i.e title, links, description and google
saves it to the database.
