Overview• Distance learning, also called distance education, e-
learning, and online learning, and represents is a form of education in which includes physical separation of teachers and students during instruction and the use of various technologies to facilitate student-teacher and student-student communication.

The Tempus project ”Creation of a Thematic University Network of Applied Science and Economics in Moldova” aims at the modernization of Moldovan Higher Education by renovating the teaching methods by use of e-learning.

The overall objective: • to modernize Moldovan higher education by renovation of teaching
methods with experimental use of e-learning. The project aims to create a digital interuniversity network (UNT) providing online training in basic and applied sciences, economics and management.
The specific objectives: • To inform MD teachers and students with technical methods of e-learning. • To train MD teachers, by the Joint Working Group MD-EU, to produce online
courses. • To experiment and disseminate online lessons via the trainers during two
periods with an intermediate synthesis to correct mistakes before the second experiment.
• To develop a summary and verify the adequacy of methods used in connection with the training requirements for working students.
• To estimate the cost of long term operation.• To develop and disseminate the results.
