Surfing Federation of Sri Lanka is the only organization in Sri Lanka recognized by the InternationalSurfing Association (ISA) with the rights and responsibilities to govern Surfing in all its forms,includingStandUpPaddle(SUP),racing&Surfing,acrosstheSriLankanTerritory.SurfingFederationofSri Lanka isaffiliatedwith theSportsMinistryofSri Lankaunder theGazettenotifications 1990/23&2079/72andthesportslaw1973/25andaffiliatedwiththeNationalOlympicCommittee.ISAAdvisorandFounderoftheSFSLMrTimJonesandMrHiranUkwattetheFounderPresidentoftheSFSLmettheNOConthe5thofMay2017andhaddiscussionsofformingtheNationalGoverningBodyforSurfingsinceSurfingsportbecameadisciplinein2020SummerOlympicsinTokyo.SFSLhadthefirstGeneralmeetingandappointedtheWorkingCommitteeonthe07thJuly2017andhadthefirstAGMonthe10thAugust2017andAppointedtheOfficeBearersandtheExCo.

4/Stage4ISASurfSafetyDays–withtheassociationoftheLSASLundertheguidanceoftheISA/ILSMOUconductedmorethan5SurfSafetydaysinSriLanka.

5/Stage5Competitions–CompletedtheFirstNationalSurfingCompetitionSeriesin2018with3stopsstartinginHikkaduwa,KabalanaandArugambayandcrownedtheNationalChampion.SanctionedtheRed Bull International event in 2018 December. Sent the First Sri Lanka National team to India andsecured3rdand4thplacesattheCovelongPointSurfingChampionshipsinChennai.
