The last Sunday of the month is a special
opportunity for young families with
children to participate in the 11:30am
Family Mass. Each month we try to
present a Eucharistic Liturgy directed
towards the needs of some of our younger
members, with special readings and
prayers, and greater opportunity for their
engagement. I’d like to encourage our young parents to take
advantage of this opportunity and to bring their families to
participate in the Sunday Mass. Our next Family Mass is next
Sunday, June 24. Please join us! ~Fr. Kevin

A women’s cursillo is being held at St. Mary’s Church in
Farmington, NM (July 19 - 22).
The Spanish word Cursillo (ker-SEE-yo) means "short
course" and is o!en associated with a 3-day weekend. The
proper name is Cursillo de Cristiandad (short course in
Christianity). The purpose of the Cursillo Movement is to
bring about a change in the environments. The Cursillo
Movement is a deliberate act to bring Jesus Christ into the
world. Cursillistas (those that have gone through the 3-
days and are living the Cursillo method) become agents for
change in their families, work situations, neighborhoods,
social gatherings, etc. Cursillistas are the part of the
Christian community (communal) that links together with
others (teamwork) to bring Jesus Christ to the world.
Applications (available in the church o"ice) must be
submitted by Thursday, July 5.

Lenten Appeal
St. Columba Church and School 2018 Lenten Appeal Thank you!
Theme: The Heart of a Disciple Create in Me a Clean Heart O God Psalm 51
This is the 3rd year of St. Columba Church and School supporting Friends of San Lucas, the foundation for San Lucas
Mission for our Lenten Appeal. Mercy and Life Ministry and Outreach Commission will take the next few months to
prayerfully consider other organizations and needs for our appeal going forward for the next 3 years.
Thanks to the generosity of St. Columba Church and School we were able to provide $10,724 to Friends of San Lucas this
year, an increase from last year of $1,781.
The Annual report from Friends of San Lucas lists some of the mission accomplishments your giving has supported: •295 stoves built in 13 communities impacting the lives of over 1500 people •11 block homes built (permanent homes built on land owned by the people) •Over 70 wooden charity homes built (wooden homes which can be moved as necessary) •Over 24,000 patient visits in the clinic and communities •Over 50 locally trained Health Promoters identified and provided nutritional supplement to over 200 children to fight
malnourishment •Over 600 children received education with over ½ of these receiving a full scholarship to attend the mission school •Women’s Center continued to grow and provided classes to hundreds of women in sewing, weaving, and cooking •Over 20,000 pounds of co"ee were shipped to US, purchased from the growers at a fair price •San Lucas Mission hosted over 1,200 visitors
Over the past 3 years of our Lenten Appeal we have given $28,507 to Friends of San Lucas. Our parish has supported the
mission in its ongoing e"orts to ease the problems associated with chronic poverty. As disciples of Christ we share our
abundance of blessings with others in the world who are struggling to survive. Your prayers and support have made a
di"erence in the lives of our brothers and sisters in Christ in San Lucas Toliman Guatemala. On their behalf we sincerely
thank you for your sharing of God’s love.
Thank you for your intentional consideration of the needs of the parish.
Please refer to the graphs above for a snapshot of our current o"ertory giving.
