To all members of our Cranbourne Primary School community—We hope you are staying positive,
supporting each other and contributing to the minimising of contamination within the community, by
respecting social distancing during this unprecedented global climate.
Notification from the Department of Education & Training (DET) has informed us that schools will begin
the holiday period at the end of TODAY Monday 23rd March 2020.
The school holiday period will commence as of Tuesday 24th March.
As per the direction of our Prime Minister, families need to make arrangements for the care and
supervision of children during this time.
School is scheduled to resume in Term 2 on Wednesday 15th April. At this stage all students are
expected to return to school on this date.
In the event that schools are instructed by DET to begin a ‘remote learning’ period, notification updates
will be communicated to families via text and emails.
We have been making preparations to provide our students with learning that can be undertaken at
home - 'Remote Learning' . Individual learning packs have been developed for every child at Cranbourne
Primary School. Remote learning involves on-line learning tasks set by teachers as well as printed tasks
to be completed in workbooks. Printed packs contain the necessary resources to complete the book
work and include access codes to online learning
Learning packs WILL NOT BE DISTRIBUTED TODAY as the learning tasks are designed for a remote
learning period only . They are not holiday tasks.
In the event that remote learning is activated, information regarding distribution of these packs will be
communicated to families via SMS and email before Wednesday 15th April.
Families will be kept updated via newsletter, SMS, Facebook and the school website.
Should any of your families be diagnosed positive with COVID-19 during the school holidays or a
period of closure, please leave a message on the answering machine—I will contact you personally
as soon as possible.
I wish all our families best wishes and hope you remain well and safe from exposure to any viruses.
