Participative local and regional planning and development is difficult and complex.

How can one develop a scenario with many others? How can one collect, assemble and follow all the

relevant information? How can scenarios be assessed?

Simlandscape helps you to answer these questions.

WHAT IS SIMLANDSCAPE ?

A kind of SimCity for spatial planning:• It is a geographical model that can be

used to • explore the present and future

developments • through a kind of “simulation”• which helps communication of ideas

WHAT IS SIMLANDSCAPE ?

The difference with SimCity however is that Simlandscape:

• Is not a computer game but a toolbox for scenario research and design.

• Deals not with players but with the actors in the spatial planning process – researchers and designers of plans, landowners and other users.

• Works with all kind of real monitoring data, with research data and with design data.

• Can visualize scenarios and research and evaluate them also in a quantative way.

WHAT IS THE CADASTRAL LANDUSE MODEL?

CLM is the ‘technology’ behind Simlandscape

• a descriptive transformation model about the cultural landscape and how it changes as a result of the interaction of actors,

• ‘translated’ into a method for scenario research and design and

• into a GIS research model.
