description

This course will demonstrate the integrated modeling environment for Part modeling. Users will be exposed to the concepts of how the two distinct modeling systems work together in a single part file. Integrated modeling proposes new ways of design and this class will explore these advances. Synchronous users that attend this class will learn about the powerful Ordered features and when to use them. Traditional users will be exposed to the Synchronous environments so that they may understand when to convert their systems, models, or features to the new paradigm. Workflows will include pure models vs. integrated models, Live Sections and sketches, transforming designs to Synchronous, and surfacing Solutions.

Multi-Body Revolution

Core Modeling Enhancements to all Environments.

Single file holds multiple closely related design bodies

Part and Sheet Metal Environments merge

Applied in both Synchronous and Ordered Modes

Solid Construction and Design Bodies approaching parity

Construction Solids and Surfaces increase distinction

New Boolean functionality for body management

Multi-Body Objectives

Single Entry on the Bill Of Material (BOM)

- Condensing the complex and common into a single file.

- Purchased elements are actually assemblies used as parts.

Design in Concert

- When elements are highly interdependent

- Contextual creation uses existing elements for new part genesis.

Environmental Merge

- PART and SHEET METAL bodies in a single file

- Integrated when required, Invisible otherwise

Single Bill of Materials Use

Simplify your Assemblies

Single Bill of Materials Use

Best Use Practices

- Insert constructions for Multi Body import

- Tolerances separate bodies

Design Objective

Design in Concert

- Highly interdependent elements can be edited simultaneously

- All relationships and dimensions may

be used between existing elements.

- Added features isolated to one body

- Placement in relation to another element

Design in Concert Workflows

- Initial Concept stage of development for any new design

1. Create a master part / SM file

2. Insert (Copy) the main components

3. Manipulate and edit the main

component positions and orientation

4. Publish the files

Multi-Body Solutions

Environmental Merge

- Maintain all modeling Abilities

- Shift Tools on Activation

- Transform to Sheet Metal in both Sync and Ordered

- Construction Sheets and Sketches are always shared
