Key Observations• Both Top and Poor Performers have comparable PSLE T Scores
• Top Performers produce consistent good performance since secondary 3
a. Sec 3: EMB3 of 15 points (averaging 3 points per subject, 65 – 69 marks)
b. N Level: EMB3 of 11 points (averaging 2 points per subject, 70 –74 marks)
• Poor Performers also show improvement from sec 3 to N level but unable to sustain the positive trend at O level.
a. Sec 3: EMB3 of 23 points (averaging 4 or 5 points per subject, 50 –64 marks)
b. N Level: EMB3 of 17.4 points (averaging 3 or 4 points per subject, 60 – 69 marks)
GREENRIDGE SECONDARY SCHOOL
Key Insights
• Everyone has potential to perform well at O level
• Must start by aiming high
a. think of the journey as a 3 year journey towards O level. (Not a 2 year to N Level + 1 year O Level Journey)
b. Sec 3 foundation is critical. (aim for at least 2 or 3 points in all subjects. 65 marks and above. Getting a 4 points or 64 marks and below is a concern)
c. Must aim for EMB3 of 16 points or better at N-Level ( even though 19 points is the qualifying criteria for promotion to Sec 5)

Home & School Partnership
Parents are IMPORTANT
partners in education
GREENRIDGE SECONDARY SCHOOL Belief: ‘Learn. Improve. Excel.’
Parents’ Role
We would like to work closely together with parents
on the following:
• Monitoring of your child’s targets and performance
• Maintaining effective communication between your child
AND the teachers
• Keeping the school informed about your child’s concerns
(including family challenges)
• Making suggestions for more effective partnership in
developing Greenridegeans
GREENRIDGE SECONDARY SCHOOL Belief: ‘Learn. Improve. Excel.’
Parents’ Role
The child’s attendance in school is extremely
important. We would like to work closely with parents
to ensure that your child/ward attends school every
day.
• School attendance is COMPULSORY.
• Only Medical Certificates and a maximum of 4 written letters
will be allowed in an academic year.
• Absences which are not due to any medical reasons will be
deemed as “Absent with no valid reasons”.
GREENRIDGE SECONDARY SCHOOL Belief: ‘Learn. Improve. Excel.’
How we can support the child
• Designated study area
• Eating well
• Enough sleep
• Many researches have shown that children with more involved parents enjoy school more and have better school attendance. They are also more emotionally and socially well adjusted and better able to handle stress.
