Twitter to Roll Out Autoplay Videos

Brands say autoplay videos are a must-have on the platform.

Benefits for brands:

•  Instant attention grabber

•  Valuable impressions even if viewer doesn’t click

on video

•  Generates more engagement with users than

click-to-play videos

If done well, autoplay can amplify a video campaign at a scale that user-initiated video could never compete with.

Watch for more brands to start taking advantage of video on Twitter.

Google and Twitter Team Up for Ads

Brands can now buy ads on Google and order Promoted Tweets together.

Currently, advertisers are hesitant to spend money on Twitter when the results don’t come close to those that Facebook is producing.

Twitter is hoping that this ‘marriage’ with Google will help sell advertisers on the Twitter platform for digital marketing.

Digital marketing on Twitter will come with reservations and very high expectations for big, money-worthy results.

With this new partnership, advertisers will be able to more easily measure the effectiveness of their Twitter campaigns.

Look for more advertisers to shift money from traditional media to Twitter in an effort to test the waters. Click to read more.

Big Changes Coming to Facebook:

An Update

In the April addition of Social Bark, we told you about 7 big changes coming to Facebook.

Here are the 3 algorithm changes that took place and how they are affecting marketers:

Changes 1.  Multiple posts from the same publisher are now allowed in the

newsfeed.

2.  Posts from friends moving to the top of feeds, above advertisements.

3.  Users will no longer see posts just because friends have liked and commented on them.

Results 1.  Brands will have more opportunity to connect with highest

engaging fans.

2.  Facebook is making a move to become more “social” and less of an advertising platform.

3.  Liking and commenting on content will no longer result in it spreading. Shareable content is key.

What does this mean for brands? Unique, original, and engaging content is key. Brands must keep consumers in mind when creating content and tell great stories that consumers wants to share. We predict a shift in money spent on paid Facebook ads to high-quality content creation.

What is… Niche?

Mydiveo? emergingartistnetwork.com?

mydiveo is a “global talent discovery” platform that encourages collaborations among artists, music lovers, and brands.

mydiveo seeks to bridge the gap between future rock stars and the brands who want to partner with them.

emergingartistnetwork.com is a similar platform that aims to match brands to compatible artists to find the “perfect brand-band fit.”

Niche, owned by Twitter, matches social media stars with marketers and advertisers who want to reach the young users who inhabit those platforms full time. Click to read more.

Is SUPER the Next Big Thing?

SUPER is an “opinion-sharing” app created by Twitter founder Biz Stone…just for fun.

“If something is fun, then people are more likely to use it. If lots of people use it, then it has the potential to become important.”

- Biz Stone

There is great potential for brands on SUPER. However, due to SUPER’s “out there style”, unique branding and attitude, it won’t (and shouldn’t) be adopted by everyone.

Carlsberg #ProbablyTheBest

Carlsberg, a Danish brewer, had a goal to get their product in front of as many beer drinkers as it could, so it built a billboard that served beer.
