The 2014 SCIAA Middle

School Football play-offs could

be called the “Battle of the Un-

defeated”. There were 4 unde-

feated teams in the play-offs

this year. Havenview was an

imposing team all season long.

The Tigers gave the Large

School teams in their division

fits all season with their stifling

defense and power offense.

The Small Schools Division had

3 undefeated teams; Georgian

Hills, Geeter, and Bellevue.

Georgian Hills has a history of

being one of the strongest

teams in the county. In the

small schools division and large

schools division Georgian Hills

has a few TMSAA Sectional

Championships on their re-

sume and there was no change

in talent this season. The

Geeter Dragons where one of

the most entertaining undefeat-

ed teams in the district. Geeter

possessed speed in all positions

on the field, but when the of-

fense was in sync no one stood

a chance against this well

coached team. Then we have

the Bellevue Bobcats who

played against great competi-

tion no matter the school’s size.

They had the toughest schedule

in the county and won every

contest. But at the end of the

SCIAA Middle School Football Championships

Middle School Basketball is big in Memphis.

This year, the SCIAA is offering the middle school

basketball teams a chance to play in the SCIAA

Benefit Games. These games will be played No-

vember 1st at four sites across the city from 10:00

am to 3:30 pm. Admission will be $6.00 with a

portion of the proceeds donated to St. Jude Chil-

dren’s Research Hospital.

SMS Academic Eligibility Tracking Program

PowerSchool SMS for Academic Eligibility Track-ing for all student-athletes in middle and high schools is up and running for the 2014-2015 school year. Every middle and high school will need to begin inputting their student-athletes by sport and season. The Athletic Director is re-sponsible for this process.

Deadlines to Input Student-Athletes:

All Fall Athletes are due by November 7th

All Winter Athletes are due by November 21st
