Only faith in Jesus…

• Frees us from sin.• Makes us new people.• Brings the Holy Spirit into our hearts.

Only faith in Jesus…

• Frees us from sin.– For through the law I died to

the law so that I might live for God. (2:19)

– It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (5:1)

Only faith in Jesus…

• Makes us new people. • I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Only faith in Jesus…• Brings the Holy Spirit into our

hearts.

“Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you heard?” (3:5)

Only faith in Jesus…

• Produces the fruit of the Spirit (5:22)

• Can stop our old sinful self.– Those who belong to Christ

Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.” (5:24)

Only faith in Jesus…

• Helps us do real good to all people.– “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you

will fulfill the law of Christ.” (6:2)
