Tenured and tenure-track librarians at the University

of Saskatchewan (U of S) have to meet the

standards for Research, Scholarly, and/or Artistic

Works as they are laid out in section 5.2 of the 2015

University Library Standards for Promotion and

Tenure1. A number of support structures have been

put in place, with the early efforts being outlined in

Fox’s 2007 paper2. The article mentions the

development of the standards for tenure and

promotion, the Librarians’ Forum, and the Dean’s

Research Lecture2. A 2010 survey by Schrader, Shiri,

and Williamson further outlines the research of U of

S academic librarians and the areas where more

support and training might be offered3.

The Centre for Evidence Based Library and

Information Practice (C-EBLIP) mission supports

University Library librarians as researchers and

evidence based practitioners.

Research at the U of S Library in the Literature

Research Data at the U of S Library

• The questions themselves required simplification, but the general concepts were retained

• Much of the discussion during the question revision session was around the extra documentation we would

need to confidently answer the questions

• Discussing the questions as a group provided the opportunity for many perspectives to be represented. The

group included experienced and new researchers, librarians from different disciplines, varying degrees of

experience with data management, and the broader campus research perspective.
