Organization You probably have some,

most, or all of what you need to care for your family in times of need. Simply by making a list of lists you can start to realize those items you already have and then make a sensible list of what you need.

Organization

Let’s start with the top 100 things that disappear first after a disaster.

100 Things that disappear first General Supplies:

Gasoline, generators, tools, gloves, plywood, nails, screws, duct tape, bleach, garbage bags etc. Cooking:

Paper plates, cups and plastic forks, Coleman stoves and the fuel to run them. Ice chests, charcoal, foil.

Food & Water: Bottled water, pre-packaged meals, ice, all canned

meat, tuna, pet food, chocolate, snack foods.

Comfort & Shelter: Tents & canopies, portable toilets, tarps and plastic

sheeting, sleeping bags, air mattresses, blankets.

100 Things that disappear first Light & Heat:

Flashlights, batteries, matches, lanterns, mantles, wicks, lamp oil, candles, portable heaters. Health and Hygiene:

Prescription Medicines, OTC medicines, toilet paper, shaving supplies, feminine products, toothpaste.

Miscellaneous: Board games, toys, escapist novels, washboards, first

aid kit, radio (AM/FM), radio (FRS, GMRS, CB, HAM) .
