Born in the Carolinas in 1898, Pepsi-Cola has a long and rich history. The drink is the invention of Caleb Bradham, a pharmacist and drugstore owner in New Bern, North Carolina.

The summer of 1898, was hot and humid in New Bern, North Carolina. So Bradham began experimenting with combinations of spices, juices, and syrups trying to create a refreshing new drink to serve his customers. He succeeded beyond all expectations because he invented the beverage known around the world as Pepsi-Cola.

1960 - Young adults become the

target consumers and Pepsi's

advertising keeps pace with

“ Now it's Pepsi, for those who

think young.”

1963 - Diet Pepsi, introduced as

America's first national diet soft

drink.  Pepsi-Cola acquires Mountain

Dew from the Tip Corporation.

1965 - Expansion outside the

soft drink industry begins.

Frito-Lay of Dallas, Texas,

and Pepsi-Cola merge,

forming PepsiCo, Inc.

1986-Acquired KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN

( KFC ) Restaurants

1993 and 96- Downfall for PEPSI because of

controversies and boycott of its products.

1997-Franchised PIZZA HUT ,TACO BELL and

KFC BRANDS.

2001- QUAKER OATS merged with PEPSICO2006-5TH CEO IN PEPSICO HISTORY:INDIRA

NOOYI.2009-OFFERS TO BUY TWO LARGEST
