THIS WEEK:
1) On Tuesday (January 28th), the Carlisle High School students will be able to take part in the Iowa Youth
Straw Poll Election Event. Please stop by the table to cast your vote and collect your sticker!
2) Seniors- Dollars for Scholars applications are due by February 1. Please use the link to complete your

3) Congratulations to swimmers Trysten Thomas and Adam Morlan for their varsity performances on Saturday at the conference championship meet at Roosevelt High School. The swim team took 2nd overall in the conference.
The swimmers finished the regular season with a 7 win, 3 loss record overall. The team is currently ranked in the top
20 in the state as they prepare for the district and state meets coming in the next few weeks. Nice work guys! 4) If you are interested in ordering Carlisle T&F apparel please use this link:

5) It's time to order your 2019-2020 yearbooks! Visit yearbookordercenter.com to purchase one. The school code
is 3332. Sales end April 30th.
6) There will be no school on Monday, February 24.
7) The district wide ACT test for all juniors will be given on Tuesday, February 25th. Freshmen, sophomores and
seniors will NOT have school this day. Classes will resume as normal for all students on Wednesday 2/26. 8) After Prom Fundraiser – Hairball 2020. Must be at least 18 years of age. Come rock the night away listening to
the best of the 80’s hair bands! We are in need of ten (10) adult volunteers to assist with concessions during the
concert on February 1st at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Always a great time, the music is a blast and the crowd is
electric! Grab a friend or two and get ready to have a blast helping raise funds for After Prom 2020! Please use this

9) CHS pop sockets are now available at the HS office! They are $5 and can be paid for with cash or check.
10) Girls Soccer Open gyms are Wednesdays (7:30-9:00PM) and Sundays (6:00-7:30PM). 11) Boys Soccer open gyms are Wednesdays (6:00-7:30PM) and Sundays (7:30-9:00PM). 12) Reminder to students: Library materials turned in after the due date are subject to fines of $.05 per
day. Please talk to or email Mrs. Hensley or Mrs. Bullis to renew your library materials if needed!
13) Seniors & Sophomores – If you did not turn in your order through Jostens please see your packets for
ordering instructions. Late fees will now apply.
14) Silver Cord Opportunities (please see flyers below for more) – The Second Chance Dog Rescue of Iowa in Prole,
IA is looking for people to walk and bathe dogs and help clean the shelter. The number is 641-297-2137. Contact
them directly if you would like to volunteer
15) Reminder- Each year students are required to complete tasks related to career and college planning to
earn .25 elective credit for graduation. Students must complete tasks in the system Naviance Student to earn their

4) The Carlisle Schools Food Pantry is open on the first and third Thursday of the month from 4-6 pm. Now enter at
the east entrance of the elementary building. Please do not arrive prior to 3:45 pm to allow our students and
buses to safely exit the facility.

SENIORS:
1) Seniors – Please remember to file your FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA) as
soon as possible. You must complete the FAFSA to be eligible for any federal or state aid as well as other
scholarship dollars. Website: www.fafsa.ed.gov. You will also need a FSAID for you AND one of your parents to
act as your electronic signature. www.fsaid.ed.gov. You can also set up an appointment with ICAN (877-272-4692
or www.icansucceed.org) for FREE help completing the FAFSA. We recommend ALL seniors complete a FAFSA
to see what financial aid you may be eligible for. Both counselors are happy to help and answer any questions you
might have related to career and college information.
2) There is a scholarship available to any senior FEMALE that is interested in teaching special
education. Please see Mrs. Heidemann if you are interested. 3) Please see below for senior portrait specifications. Pictures are now overdue. Please turn in immediately!
