Clinical case 1

Orto Tech Design Ltd.

On 26th August 2006 a woman with a pelvic fracture as a result of a road accident was admitted to the hospital in the town of Dobrich. She had three vertical fractures (61B3/AO), with disruption of the wholeness of the pelvic arch (sacrum and both pubic bones) and damaged configuration of the pelvis.

During her admission she complained of pains, weakness and hypesthesia of the right lower limb. She underwent direct extension without considerable improvement.

On the 7th day after the accident Stanislav Nestorov MD and Lyubomir Bozhkov MD performed a manual reposition under general anesthetic and using percutaneous technique they placed an external fixator “Nestorov type’ with 4 supporting points on the lower part of the pelvic arch.
