THE AMITY UNIVERSE

After interacting with businessmen and scientists from

virtually every country of the world, I came to a conclusion a

long time back that the Indian brain has no match in the

world.

We set up the Amity Institution with the aim to provide world

class education and the most dedicated teachers to some of

the brightest and motivated students of our country. By

giving them an industry-oriented practical teaching with a

focus on personality enhancement and imbibing of values

and sanskar and a sense of responsibility towards the

people around them, Amity students have been groomed to

be assets to any organization they join.

I am confident that with the world class environment of a

company like yours, and with the guidance of distinguished

people like yourself, our students will fulfill all the

expectations and also win the hearts of everyone around

them with their knowledge, positive attitude, proactive and

self-oriented approach.

There can be no better way for both of us to build or continue

a long-lasting relationship than through absorbing an

Amitian in your organization.

I wish you all the success in all the missions you have set for

yourself and your organization.

Dr. Ashok. K. Chauhan

Founder President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation

The Amity Institute of Competitive Intelligence (AICI) is running a Two

Years’ full time course - MBA (Competitive Intelligence and Corporate

Warfare) with additional specialization in Marketing and Sales - since

25 July 2005. With the right mix of subjects in Management, Competitive

Intelligence and Corporate Warfare, blended with Business Strategy,

this unique course is being offered for the first time in India to bring

about a change in the mind-set of our future corporate leaders.

Today’s business world is marked by hyper-competition and there is

competition everywhere. We live in an environment of change and

uncertainty. This programme recognizes these factors and deals with

them. It is essential for every business to understand what its

competitors are doing and what they are planning to do.

Understanding the competition is no longer just desirable in the

business world, it is essential. Those organizations which lose time in

adopting the most contemporary methods of gaining Competitive

Intelligence will leave an open door for their competitors to lead the

market. Regardless of size, businesses must be able to assess their

competitors in order to predict their strategies and then to shape

success in Marketing and Sales as also in other areas.

The scope of Competitive Intelligence, is however, not limited to

researching and assessing other firms and acting to outperform them.

It embraces all factors that could endanger or enhance a company’s

revenues and profits. Hence, true Competitive Intelligence can be

defined as the transformation of intelligence into shared learning

within an organization that provides a basis for its decision making,

strategy, and corporate action. This chemistry is the theme of

Competitive Intelligence.

The world is moving fast, we need to move faster. In the long run, MBA

(Competitive Intelligence and Corporate Warfare) with additional

specialization in Marketing and Sales will bring about a revolution in

the corporate landscape. It will speed up India’s progress towards

becoming a great power.

Indian industry, in its march towards true globalization, has clearly understood the significance of being

competitive. The need for getting trained in the basic techniques of Competitive Intelligence and in the art of

Corporate Warfare would now emerge as a necessity as India reinforces its efforts to become a superpower,

challenging the global competitors.

What is Competitive IntelligenceCompetitive Intelligence is the identification of strategically important corporate intelligence needs and the

process of resolving those needs through ethical information-gathering, analysis, and the presentation of such

analysis to clients (internal or external).

In complex environments, successful firms do not simply find a success formula or a set of competencies and

bank/capitalize on them. Successful firms are dynamic and often non linear. Successful firms, in such

environments, are those that can continually discover competitive opportunities. It is the stream of competitive

opportunities that allow an organization to continually renew itself in harmony with the competitive

environment. Simply put: successful firms differentiate themselves from other firms by being continually

different. Competitive Intelligence is the critical driver of information that will allow a firm to strategise, and to

adapt pre-emptively to the future environment.

Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity addressing a seminar on Competitive Intelligence.

• It is contest between companies for the acquisition of customers, for

obtaining the superiority and domination of one over the other.

• A company’s competitive strategy should be the corner stone of everything

it does, the foundation on which it builds everything else. Unless it is

adding value to customers’ satisfaction in a better or faster or cheaper

manner than its competitors, many would argue that a company deserves

to go out of business.
