1.0 PROJECT INFORMATION

2.0 PLATE LOAD TEST INFORMATION
� Number of Tests : 11
� Plate Size : Dia . 12”x 25 mm
� Design Load : 20 Tons/sq.m.
� Proposed Test : 50 Tons/sq.m. (2.5 * design load)
� Testing Standard : AASHO T235-74 (1986) / ASTM D1195
3.0 TESTING APPARATUS
The test apparatus consists of the following:
1. A 10-ton hydraulic jack was used as loading device.
2. A dia.12”x 25 mm thick steel plate was used to distribute the load from the jack to the plate and to the ground.
3. Three dial gauges with accuracy of 0.01 mm were used to measure the deflections during loading and unloading.
4 .Back hoe axial was used as reaction load during loading .
4.0 TEST PROCEDURE
The test ground was loaded as per AASHO T 235-74 (1986) as per the loading and unloading steps. These steps were for all the tests conducted.
Loading: 0- 25% - 50% - 75% - 100% - 125% - 150% - 175% - 200% - 225% - 250% of the design load.
Unloading: 150% - 100% - 50% and 0% of the design load

Infratech ASTM CO., LTD.
Each loading and unloading stage was maintained for 15 minutes with readings made at 1, 2, 4, 8 and 15 minutes after the application or removal of load. During the test, records including plots of load vs. time and load vs. settlement were maintained progressively.
5.0 RESULTS OF TEST
Results of test will be presented in graph form show relationship among load-time-settlement and prediction of subgrade modulus.
