Project Background

• Bang Khun Thian – Pak Tho Intercity Motorway (M82)is one of the high - priority projects under the 20-year Intercity Motorway Master Plan (2017-2036)

• At present, travel via Highway No. 35, especially fromBang Khun Thian - Samut Sakhon has been facing heavy traffic congestion.

• Ministry of Transport, by Department of Highways has therefore accelerated the development of Bang KhunThian – Pak Tho Intercity Motorway, Bang Khun Thian- Ban Phaeo Section by allowing the private sector to utilize its knowledge, capabilities, experiences and expertises to solve such the traffic problem.

Civil work Construction

The project is a Six-Lane Elevated Roadway (3 lanes for each directions), with 3.6 meters for lane width, 2.0 meters for outer shoulder, 1.0 meters for inner shoulder.

Phase 1

The project design is an elevated toll road on Highway No. 35 (Rama II road) with a total length of 15 km. (Ekachai – Ban Phaeo)

The structure can be redesigned according to DOH’s standard

The base model was prepared to simulate and replicate existing traffic condition along the corridor then was used in the forecast over 2023 to 2051 with the defined assumptions.
