About Our Program & Designations

The Master Instructor Continuing Education Program (MICEP) is a family of accreditations available to qualified aviation educators. The program is based on a system of advanced professional standards and rigorous peer review. MICEP designations serve two purposes: they identify and recognize educators who have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to excellence and professional growth in, as well as service to, the aviation community; and they establish professional standards to which all aviation educators should aspire.

MICEP designations are renewed every two years. The biennial renewal cycle promotes the continued involvement by designees in a variety of aviation activities and challenges them to remain sufficiently active as teachers as well as learners. And provided designees meet the requirements, they can apply for the one-time, honorary Master Instructor Emeritus designation as a reward for a decade or more of involvement in this program.

BENEFITS MICEP designees receive recognition of achievement beyond minimum standards, a Master lapel pin, and a laser-engraved plaque. Designees can use the Master logo for promotional purposes, and their accreditation as a reference for employment. Designees also receive a listing in the Master Instructor directory.

INCREASED EARNING POTENTIAL As a result of participation in MICEP, the majority of Masters reported a 10 to 40 percent increase in income. Other Masters reported enhanced benefits packages from their employers.

MASTER-WEAR Access to apparel embroidered with the distinctive “Master Instructor” logo.

ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS MICEP uses the very same Internet-based application management system used by organizations such as TEDx, Disney, and the Chicago School System. The interactive process is more efficient and offers a better user experience than paper submissions.
