Scholarship description:

Buildingontheirsharedvaluesofentrepreneurshipandsupportforthecommunity,theJacksonvilleJaguarsandLGTVestraUSareproudtolaunchtheGridironGrantUniversityScholarshipforthefirsttimeeverintheUK.BothorganisationsrecognizetheimportanceofeducationandhavecommittedtoprovidetwostudentathleteswiththeopportunitytoreceivefulltuitionfeescholarshiptoaUKhighereducationinstitution,asarewardfortheircontributiontothegameandthecommunity.

TheGridironGrantinitiativewillspecificallyoffersupporttostudentsgraduatingsecondaryschoolwhoplayAmericanFootballonaregularbasisthroughtheJacksonvilleJaguarsJagTagprogramme.Aswellasparticipationstudentswillbeassessedagainstanumberofothercriteriaincludingacademicachievement,self-discipline,hard-workandservicetothecommunity.InadditionstudentathletesparticipatingwithintheBAFAorganizationareeligibletosubmitapplicationsbasedonregularinvolvementwiththeirrespectiveBAFAteamsbothfromaplayingandsupportperspective.

TheGridironGrantisapplicabletoemergingsecondaryschoolgraduateshopingtoattendUniversityintheUK,anaccreditedcollegeoratechnicaltrainingschoolthatarerecognisedthree-yearorfour-yearhighereducationprogrammes.

Eligibility Requirements:

• MustbeacurrentandregularparticipantintheJacksonvilleJaguarsJagTagorJagTagSatelliteprogrammesoranaccreditedBAFAprogramme.

• Demonstratestrongself-discipline,hard-workandservicetothecommunity.• AnticipatingcompletionofA-levelsorequivalenttechnicalqualificationattheendofthecurrentacademic

year.• Acceptedoranticipatedacceptanceintoadegreeortechnicalcertificationatanaccreditedcollege,university

ortechnicaltrainingschool.• Minimumcumulative280UCASpointsorequivalent.
