DEFINING GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION

Unlikenationalcitizenship,globalcitizenshipisnotalegalstatus.Instead,globalcitizenshipisawayofthinkingabouttheworldandone’splaceinit.Individualswhohaveembracedglobalcitizenshipfeelasenseofbelongingtoacommonhumanityandsharedresponsibilitytofindsolutionstoglobalchallenges.Theyarepreparedtoactivelyengagewithdiversepeople,problems,andopportunities.Globalcitizenshonortherightsanddignityofeveryhumanbeingandrecognizethatinanever-changing,increasinglyinterconnectedworld,weallmustlearntoliveandworktogetherpeacefully.
