LICENSED SYSTEMS

Network Facilities Provider – Tier 2

This license allows JTL to build national telecommunications

infrastructure including satellite networks, terrestrial fixed and mobile

networks. JTL has under this license built a Fiber Optic Network,

Satellite Network and a WiMAX Network.

International Systems and Services Provider

This license allows JTL to build international telecommunication

systems including Satellite Earth Stations, Submarine Cable Landing

Stations and Cross-Border Stations. In line with this license JTL has

invested in the TEAMS submarine cable system and build a state-of-the

–art Satellite Teleport facility.

Application Service Provider

This license allows JTL to establish and provide electronic

communication services including Broadcasting, Voice, Video, Data and

Internet services using its infrastructure.

Content Service Provider

This license allows JTL to establish and provide electronic content

services including broadcasting content, financial information services

and other information society services.

JTL has built an National fiber Network using the secure KPLC

overhead cables and the GOK NFOBI cable

The Overhead cable has achieved 100% uptime on the cable between

Nairobi and Mombasa

Network Runs from Mombasa to Malaba and to central Kenya and later

to other counties via the NFOBI cable

Network availability further enhanced via bilateral back up agreements

with terrestrial cable operators

GOK SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF INTERNET

2010 JTL won Tender by ICT board to supply Internet capacity to the

Government of Kenya

JTL using a combination of its own infrastructure and partners has

delivered 3.2Gbps of internet capacity to Treasury

The Capacity consist of 2.4Gbps to Europe and 622Mbps to Asia

MOBILE BACKHAUL FOR MOBILE OPERATORS

JTL as a carrier of carriers uses its Metro and National Network to

backhaul 3G/2G, Switch to Switch and Customer to Switch traffic for

various Mobile operators in Kenya
