Born April 23rd, 1791 in Cove Gap, PA

James Buchanan is the only president to never marry.

First president to send a transatlantic telegram

One of three presidents to never have children.

He is the only president to come from Pennsylvania

His niece performed the duties of the first lady during his administration.

His nickname was “Ten-Cent Jimmy ”

Died on June 1st , 1868 and is buried at Woodward Hill Cemetery in Lancaster, PA

James Buchanan the last one born in 18th century.

He was also the Minister to Russia and Minister to Great Britain
