Certificate Testing

Students test in some subject areas.

We recommend certificate testing for students who have strengths in specific subject areas.

Take 0-2 tests as a juniorTake 0-5 tests as a senior

Full IB Diploma Requirements

• Enroll in North International High School

• Complete Theory of Knowledge and required paper and oral presentation

• Complete 150 hours of activities in the categories of Creativity, Action, and Service (CAS)

• Complete and submit an Extended Essay senior year

• Do advanced academic work and testing in six areas of study, three of which must be at the Higher Level (two years of instruction completed).

Requirements Continued… The six subjects must include:

a. Historyb. Language A1 (English)c. Science (Bio or Chem)d. Mathematics (Pre-Calc)e. Language B (Japanese or Spanish)f. Film Studies

Exams are taken in grades 11 and 12 only.

Up to two SL exams can be taken in your junior year. We recommend this as it creates less work for you your senior year. HL exams cannot be taken in your junior year.

50 hours of eachCreativity - Painting a mural, designing a pamphlet,

making quilts, etc.Action - sport, yoga, dancing, etc.Service - volunteering anywhere not for pay or credit

Mrs. Downey - presents 10th grades the CAS info in May Mrs. Kostechka reviews CAS with the 11th graders

during second semester. All CAS for seniors due on April 15, 2011. All CAS forms are available on our website and in the

IHS office.
