OUR TOWNE - SEPT 2015
Meet Lake Pointe’s GS-ACE
Keith Alan Dotson was honored this month as an “Acknowledged Champion for Extraordinary Services” by the Lake Pointe Medical Center in Rowlett, TX. Mr. Dotson, a Towne Park GSA, was nominated for the ACES Award by a patient who thanked Keith for going above and beyond his job to assist them during an emergency hospital visit.
Please join me us in congratulating Keith for this outstanding achievement and embodying the Towne
Park credo of “Good Enough Never Is.”
IPT Lifesaver
Alissa Miles, an Internal Patient Transporter in her just her early days with Towne Park has already proven to be a true lifesaver. Upon arriving at a room, Alissa noticed that a patient was gasping for air. She immediately ran to find a nurse. She first encountered a tech who said “that’s not my patient.” When a nurse was brought in, she too stated “that’s not my patient.” Alissa held firm and assertively and respectfully said “Someone needs to help her right now because she cannot breathe!” This got the attention of another nurse that immediately helped the patient. The patient may not be here today if not for Alissa’s persistence. Proud Account Manager Jimmy Palermo immediately thanked her for her efforts. Her response? “You don’t have to thank me. Someone needed help, so I helped them. That’s what everyone should do.” This attitude guarantees guest/patient satisfaction, prevents claims and promotes a positive work environment. Oh yea… It also saves lives!
Alissa is a true example of our motto, The Very Best People… GUARANTEED!

Not on their watch! Zion Zeleke- A gentlemen approached Zion and asked for his vehicle without a claim check. Zion asked
for his ID and started to fill out the lost claim check record. She made a copy of the man’s ID and asked
what kind of car he had. He replied “Nissan Altima”. The only set of Nissan keys did not match his name.
Zion then asked what color the vehicle, to which the man responded “Blue”. The Nissan in our
possession was grey. She returned to the key box for one more check and when she turned around the
man was gone.
Eric Ogala- A “guest” approached Eric and requested his vehicle, a 2015 Mercedes Benz V-class and
stated that he left his claim check in his room. Eric requested his ID. The man stated he was in a hurry to
leave and his room number was 2272. Eric apologized and said he needed to match the name on his ID
to the registration on the vehicle. The man said his ID was in his room and turned and started to walk,
then RAN away!
Carmen Mackey– A well-dressed, middle aged woman approached Carmen requesting her vehicle. She
stated she left her valet ticket in her room and her ID was left in her vehicle. She accurately described
the keys so she brought the vehicle to the front drive, however was not able to find the woman’s ID. The
“guest” became aggravated and said she was a frequent guest and never had to undergo the process
before. Carmen told the woman she could not release the vehicle without a claim ticket or ID. With that,
the actual owners came to the drive puzzled why the car was already there. The woman ran and left the
property.

The Mid-Atlantic kicked off their quarterly leadership meeting with an exciting team building and
community service event as teams of Towne Park leaders and hotel partners put their engineering skills
to the test. Armed with wrenches and enthusiasm, these teams raced to construct the ultimate human-
powered, energy-efficient rocket – a children’s bicycle!
Two hours later, those very bikes were donated to 10 children from the Dunbar Boys and Girls Club in
Alexandria, VA.
As the children rushed into the room overjoyed and stunned, the same emotions fell over our leaders as
no one will forget young E.J.’s excited inquisition, “I get to take this home with me!?”
BGCGW’s Dunbar Alexandria-Olympic Branch provides youth ages 5 to 18 with high-impact, affordable programs
and caring adult mentorships to keep kids on the path to GREAT FUTURES, emphasizing academic success, good
character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.
