FONTS are part of the design.

“In traditional typography, a FONT is a particular size, weight and style of a typeface. Each font was a matched set of metal type, one piece ("sort") for each glyph, and a typeface comprised a range of fonts that shared an overall design.”

Traditional FONTS are best, especially for viewing on screen. Print too.

Tahoma, Times, Verdana

Comic Sans = Never. Really. Everyone is tired of it.

Keep your design smart and simple by using only 1 or 2 different FONTS.

Use only 1 or 2 FONT styles. Regular + Italic – OR – Regular + Bold.

Use 1-2 FONT sizes. Maximum.

FONT = “size matters”. Keep your materials readable. Remember, not too small.

Use COLOR to draw attention. And evoke emotion.

Use COLOR to enhance, not distract. Less is often more.

Spot COLOR draws learners’ eyes to an area on the page. Spot color should harmonize with overall theme.

RED is best used as an accent. Avoid using red text, as it is difficult for many to read.
