What is a Proxy Server?

1. In communications, a proxy is something that acts as a server, but when given requests from clients, acts itself as a client to the real servers

2. A Proxy server is a server which routes you to browse your favorite web sites -- even though your access to those web sites might be blocked by a content filter. Example???????
