The 203-acre Arney Bend Wildlife Area was purchased by the Marshall Coun-ty Conservation Board in 1980 to conserve and manage an important segment of wild-life habitat adjacent to the Iowa River A grant from the Iowa Wildlife Habi-tat Stamp fund provided 75% of the cost of the acquisition. The remaining monies came from Marshall County Conservation Board funds and numerous business, civic organizations, and individual donations

Technical assistance was given by the Izaak Walton League of America Endowment. The Iowa Division and the Marshall County Chapter of the Izaak

Walton League efforts to secure significant donations toward this acquisition project are greatly appreciated
