A reflexive verb is a verb that describes the action of doing something to yourself e.g.. To wash oneself
These verbs are a bit like a boomerang, the action comes back to the subject.
Many reflexive verbs can be used to describe a morning routine, e.g. To wake oneself up, to dress oneself, to wash oneself.
This means that a typical reflexive verb sentence would go:
REFLEXIVE VERB + TIME E.g. Je me lave à sept heures I wash myself at 7am
This is who is doing the action, e.g. I, you we etc.
Quick revision of subjects I – Je You – Tu He – Il She – elle We – Nous You (plural) – Vous They - Ils
These show who the action is being done to (this obviously matches up with the subject)
Je – me Tu – te Il – se Elle – se Nous – nous Vous – vous Ils – se
