HEALTH MINISTER IN CHHATTISGARH

Three major hospitals of Chhattisgarh will be equipped with trauma units to

provide immediate medical attention to victims injured in different kinds of

accidents. The state government has sanctioned Rs 12 crore 88 lakh on

proposal of Health Department.

The trauma care centres will be established in Government District Hospital

of District Headquarters Kanker. Besides, Raipur based Dr Bhimrao

Ambedkar Hospital and Bilaspur based Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical

Science (CIMS) will also equipped with trauma care centre.

During the first three supplementary budget of the current financial year , the

provision has been made of Rs 12 crore 88 lakh for these three trauma centres.

Chhattisgarh State Government's 'Sanjeevni ' 108 Express has the

reputation of saving patients in distress. This project was launched on 25

January 2011. The patients are ferried free of cost to the hospitals. The

health minister in Chhattisgarh is planning a number of other schemes.

Sanjeevni Express had transported about 8 lakh 83 thousand patients to

hospitals till date. This includes 2 lakh 23 thousand pregnant women

who had been ferried to hospitals for deliveries.

About 1 lakh 30 thousand accident victims have been shifted by 108

ambulances and 28 thousand 454 injured in other mishaps have been shifted

to hospitals.

About 23 thousand heart-attack patients and 24 thousand patients

suffering from breathing and other related illnesses have been saved by

the life-saving ambulances.

About 8 lakh 31 thousand calls have been registered this year till May 2015.

The Sanjeevni Express had transported about 1 lakh three thousand patients

to hospitals and saved their precious lives.
