As part of this years Summer of Giving, Hamptons
magazine brings you our third annual community-based
philanthropic program, CHAIRS FOR A CAUSE.
Eleven world-renowned artists with local ties to the
Hamptons Louise Eastman, Christopher French, Margaret
Garrett, Donald Lipski, Jason Middlebrook, Gerald Pryor, Dan
Rizzie, John Torreano, Lucy Winton, Gavin Zeigler, and Almond
Zigmund created custom works of art to adorn teak chairs
handcrafted and donated by Bridgehamptons own Silas
Marder and Marders Landscape and Nursery.
The chairs will be auctioned off to beneft an impressive roster
of fourteen local organizations on the East End. These include
The American Heart Association, Bay Street Theater, Evelyn
Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center, Group for the East End,
Guild Hall, The Parrish Art Museum, Southampton Arts Center,
The Southampton Hospital/Ellen Hermanson Breast Center, The
Watermill Center, The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts
Center, and the Artists and Writers Softball Game benefting:
East End Hospice, Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center,
The Phoenix House Academy and The Retreat.
