Ourschoolisseparatedintofourdifferentareas.Wehaveanailtechnologyarea,cosmetologyarea,barberarea,andestheticianarea.Eachareaismanagedinthefollowingmanner:
• Thenailtechnologyareaconsistsofmanicureandpedicurestations.Eachstationisassignedtoanindividualstudentforthedurationoftheirtrainingforthatday.
• Thecosmetologyareaconsistsofhairstylingstationswhichincludehydraulicchairs,mirrors,andcompartmentsinwhichstudentscanstoretheirtools.
• Thebarberareaincludesstationswhichincludehydraulicchairs,mirrors,andcompartmentsinwhichstudentscanstoretheirtools.
• Theestheticsareahastwoseparateroomswithtablesforspaservices.• Duetothelimitedparkingstudentsarenotallowedtoparkonourlot.

TUITION PAYMENTS AND ASSISTANCE
GlitzSchoolofCosmetologyoffersanIn-HousefinancingprogramthroughTFCCreditCorporation.Aninterestrateof6%appliestoallstudentswhoopttousein-housefinancing.Studentsundertheageof18aswellasstudentswhoarenotemployedatthetimeofacceptancewillberequiredtohaveaco-signer.StudentshavetheoptiontopayTFCormaketheirpaymentdirectlytoGlitzSchoolofCosmetologyeverymonth.TFCwillnotifyGlitzifmonthlypaymentsarenotmade.Studentswillnotbeabletoattendclassuntilthepaymentsaremadecurrent.A$10.00feepayabletoTFCappliestoallpaymentsthatareover10dayslate.Studentswhoareover30dayslatewiththeirpaymentontwoormoreoccasionswillberequiredtopayinfullpriortograduation.Daysthatastudentisunabletoattendduetononpaymentdonotextendthecontractmaximumallowedtime.
FEDERAL TITLE IV FINANCIAL AID PROGRAMS GlitzSchoolofCosmetologyiscurrentlyaccreditedbytheNationalAccreditingCommissionofCareerArtsandSciencesandpendingfederalaccreditationbyNACCAStoqualifyforFederalTitleIVfunding
(FinancialAid).AtthistimeGlitzSchoolofCosmetologyiscurrentlynoteligibletoparticipateinFederalTitleIVFinancialAidPrograms.
PAYMENT TERMS Studentandsponsor/co-signer(ifapplicable)agreetopaytheschoolthetuitionandfeesfortheprogramselectedaccordingtotheapprovedpaymentplanstatedintheirenrollmentagreement.Studentswhodonotmeetgraduationrequirementsbytheendoftheirmaximumallottedcontracttimewillincurextrainstructionalcharges(additionaltuition)forallhoursremainingafterthecontractendingdate.Therateofextrainstructionalchargesis$25.00perhour.Theextrainstructionalchargeswillbeappliedtothestudent’sremainingbalanceaftertheygraduate.Theschoolmaychargea$10.00transcriptfeefortranscriptrequests.GlitzSchoolofCosmetologywillchargeaApplicationfeeof$100.00tostudentsenrollingortransferringtoourschool.A$100.00withdrawalfeewillbechargedtostudentswholeavetheirprogrampriortocompletion.Theschoolwillchargeare-entryfeeof$100tostudentswhohavewithdrawnandwishtore-entermorethan30daysaftertermination.Thetuitionratescurrentatthetimeofre-entrywillapplytothebalanceoftraininghoursneededforstudentswhore-enrollmorethan30daysaftertheformalwithdrawaldateunlessmitigatingcircumstancesapply.TheApplicationfeeandapplicabledepositaredueinfulluponApplication.Theremainingbalanceisduepriortostartdateorthroughanapprovedpaymentplanasstatedintheenrollmentagreement.Paymentsmaybemadebycash,moneyorder,check,creditcardorthroughnon-federalagencyorloan

programs.Ifacheckisdeniedbythebanka$60feewillapplyandthestudentwillbeunabletousechecksforfuturepayments.Checksmustbeclearedpriortothereleaseofanydocuments.Studentsareresponsibleforpayingthetotaltuitionandfeesaswellasrepayinganyapplicableloansplusinterest.
COOLING PERIOD Students,legalguardians,orco-signerssigninganenrollmentagreementormakinganinitialdepositorpaymenttowardtuitionandfeesoftheinstitutionareentitledtoacoolingoffperiodofthreeworkdaysfromthedateofagreementorpaymentorfromthedatethatthestudentfirstvisitstheinstitution,whicheverislater.Duringthecoolingoffperiodtheagreementcanbewithdrawnandallpaymentsshallberefunded.Evidenceofpersonalappearanceattheinstitutionordepositofawrittenstatementofwithdrawalfordeliverybymailorothermeansisconsideredtomeetthetermsofthecoolingoffperiod.
SCHOLARSHIPS
GlitzSchoolofcosmetologyreservestherighttoawardscholarshipsatitsowndiscretion.Scholarshipsincludeapartialorfullcostreductionofthetuitiononly.Therecipientisresponsibleforthecostofthekitandapplicationfees.
REFUND POLICY
Thisrefundpolicyappliestoallterminationsforanyreason,byeitherparty.Thesereasonsinclude,butarenotlimitedto:studentdecision,expulsion,applicantisrejected,course
cancellation,orschoolclosure.a. AnApplicantrejectedbytheschoolshallbeentitledtoarefundofallmoniespaidexceptfor
thenon-refundableapplicationfeeof$100.00.b. Ifacourseiscancelledafterastudenthasenrolledbutbeforeinstructionbegins,Glitz
SchoolofCosmetologywillprovidearefundofallmoneyspaid.c. Ifacourseiscancelledandweceasetoofferinstructionsubsequenttoastudent’s
enrollmentandafterinstructionhasbegun,GlitzSchoolofCosmetologywillofferaproratedrefundtostudentstransferringtoanotherschoolbasedontheamountofhoursacceptedbytheotherschool.
d. Intheeventthatourschoolclosespermanentlyandweceasetoofferinstructionstudentswillreceiveaproratedrefund.
e. Athree-daycoolingperiodisgrantedIfastudent(orincaseofastudentunderthestate'slegalage,his/herparentorguardian)cancelsenrollmentandrequestsreimbursementinwritingwithinthreebusinessdaysofsigninganEnrollmentAgreement,makinganinitialtuitionpayment,ortheinitialvisittotheschool,(whicheverislater)regardlessofwhetherornotthestudentactuallystartedtraining,allmoneycollectedshallberefunded.
f. Refundspriortocommencinginstruction.Followingthecoolingoffperiodbutpriortothebeginningofinstruction,astudentmaywithdrawfromenrollment,effectiveuponpersonalappearanceattheinstitutionordepositofawrittenstatementofwithdrawaldeliveredbymailorothermeans,andthestudentshallbeentitledtoarefundofallmoneysexceptthe$100applicationfee.

i. ForstudentswhodonotreturnfromaLeaveofAbsence,theterminationdatewillbethelastdayofattendance.
j. Allmoneyduetheapplicantorstudentshallberefundedwithin30daysaftercancellationorterminationwhetherofficialorunofficial.
1. Incaseofanillnessordisablingaccident,deathintheimmediatefamily,orcircumstancesbeyondthecontrolofthestudent,theschoolwillmakeasettlement,whichisbothfairandreasonable.
2. Iftheschoolispermanentlyclosedandnolongerofferinginstructionafterthestudenthasenrolled,thestudentshallbeentitledtopro-ratedrefundoftuition.
3. Ifacourseiscanceledsubsequenttoastudent'senrollment,butbeforeinstructionbeginstheschoolwillprovidearefundofallmoniespaid.
4. Eachstudentisrequiredtocompletethetotalnumberofhoursinthemaximumtimeallotted.Absenteeismallowedforeachstudentis10%ofthecontractedhours.Afterthemaximumallottedtimehasexpired,anextrafeeof$25.00perhourwillbechargedtothestudent.Thesechargeswillbeaddedtothestudent’sremainingbalanceaftergraduation.EmergencysituationsofabsenteeismwillbediscussedandreviewedwiththeSchoolBoard.ALeaveofAbsencemayberequested,inwriting,bythestudent.Iftherequestisapprovedthecontractenddatewillbeextendedbythesameamountofdaysintheleaveofabsence.

OFFICIAL CANCELLATIONS AND WITHDRAWALS
Astudentwhoisexpelledorrejectedwillbenotifiedinwriting.Allcancellationsandwithdrawalsonthestudent’spartmustbesubmittedinwriting.Thecancellationdatewillbedeterminedbythedateonthe
postmarkorthedaythenotificationisdeliveredtotheschoolinperson.
UNOFFICIAL WITHDRAWALS
Thecontractofastudentwhoisabsentforfourteendayswithoutnotifyingtheschoolmaybeconsideredterminatedandthestudentwillbewithdrawn.Are-entryfeeof$100.00willapplytostudentswhoreturnmorethan30daysafterthecontractcancellation.Exceptionswillbemadefor
extenuatingcircumstances.
APPLICATION AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
TobeconsideredasacandidateforanyofourprogramsatGlitzSchoolofCosmetologyanapplicantmustmeetthefollowingrequirements:
1. Beatleast17yearsofageandhaveagovernmentissuedID.2. Meetatleastoneoftheeducationalrequirementsbelow:
a. Have a high school diploma. High school diplomas from foreigncountriesmust be translated by an outside agency that is qualified totranslatedocumentsintoEnglish.TheforeignhighschooldiplomamustalsobeverifiedastheacademicequivalentofaU.S.highschooldiploma
b. GeneralEducationDiploma(G.E.D.).c. Evidence of successful completion of a state approved homeschooling
program.d. Transferring students must be approved by the School President or
Director as well as the New Mexico Board of Barbers andCosmetologists. Clock hours from the originating schools that areaccepted will be applied at a 1:1 ratio and remaining hours will bechargedatthecurrentrateforthatprogram.PleasenoteGlitzmaynotaccept 100% of the hours granted by another school and will onlyacceptupto75%ofthecourselength.Transferringstudentsmustalsomeetatleastoneoftherequirementslistedabove.
e. Glitz understands that a student might be forced to withdraw fromschool due to circumstances beyond his/her control. Students can re-enter the school a second time and will do so in the same academicstatus.Studentswhowishtore-entertheschoolathirdtimewillneedtogothroughaboardreviewprocessand,ifaccepted,mustpayfortheremainder of their education in full prior to graduation. Re-enteringstudentsmustfilloutanewapplicationandpayapplicablefeestoGlitzaswellastheNewMexicoBoardofBarbersandCosmetologists.
Applicantstotheinstructorprogrammustmeetatleastoneoftheaboverequirementsand:

INSTRUCTOR PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Our1000clockhourinstructorprogramcombineslongstandingmethodswiththelatesttrainingandteachingmethodologytechniquestoenhanceandproducewellroundedinstructors.
INSTRUCTOR PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Ourinstructorprogramisacombinationofbookwork,handsonexperience,shadowingofafulllicensedcosmetologyinstructordesignedtoprepareyoutosuccessfullypassboththetheoryandpracticallicensingexaminationsadministeredbytheNewMexicoBoardofBarbersandCosmetologists.ThisprogramisalsotailoredtomeetorexceedtheclockhourandservicerequirementssetforthbythestateofNewMexicoBoardofBarbersandCosmetologists.Inaddition,thisprogramisfashionedtoproduceexperienced,professional,andconfidentgraduateswhocanobtaingainfulemploymentandsucceedasaninstructor.
INSTRUCTORPROGRAMGRADUATIONREQUIREMENTS
GRADESREQUIREDTOGRADUATETosuccessfullycompletetheinstructorprogramstudentsmusthaveagradeof70%orbetterinbothpracticalandtheoreticalknowledge.Studentswhohavea69%orlessatthetimeofgraduationwillberequiredtoreviewandredotests,quizzes,assignments,andpracticalexaminations.Extra-instructionalchargeswillapply.ATTENDANCEREQUIREDFORGRADUATIONStudent’sintheinstructorprogrammustachieveanattendancegradeof80%orbetterduringthefirst25calendardaysoftheirschooling.Ifastudent’sattendancegradeisbelow80%bythe25thcalendardayoftheirprogramstartdatethestudentwillbeterminatedfromGlitzSchoolofCosmetology.Agradeof90%orbetterisrequiredforstudentgraduation.Studentswhodonotcompletetherequired1000hoursbytheendoftheirmaximumallowedtimeframewillincurachargeof$25perhourforallhoursattendedbeyondtheirgraduationdate.Chargeswillbeaddedtothestudent’sremainingbalanceaftergraduation.ATTENDANCEPOLICYFORVASTUDENTSForVAstudents,theattendancepolicy(20%ofthetotalprogramand/orbeingabsentfive(5)consecutivedays)willapplythroughoutthestudent’sstayinschool.AllviolationsoftheattendancepolicywillbereportedtoDVAonVAForm22-1999bwithin30daysatsuchtimethestudentexceedstheallowednumberofabsences.

WARNING
Studentswhofailtomeetminimumrequirementsforattendanceand/oracademicprogressareplacedon warning and considered to be making satisfactory academic progress while during the warningperiod. Thestudentwillbeadvised inwritingon theactions required toattain satisfactoryacademicprogress by the next evaluation. 1. GlitzSchoolofCosmetologyevaluatesthestudent’sprogressanddeterminesthatthestudentdidnotmakesatisfactoryacademicprogressduringthewarningperiod.
2. The student successfullyappeals thenegativeprogressdeterminationprior tobeingplaced inprobation.
3. GlitzSchoolofCosmetologydeterminesthatsatisfactoryacademicprogresscanbeattainedbythesubsequentevaluationperiod.
4. Glitz SchoolofCosmetologydevelopsanacademicplan that, if followed,will ensure that thestudent is able to meet the institution’s satisfactory academic progress requirements by aspecificpointwithinthestudent’smaximumtimeframe.
APPEALPROCEDURE
Ifastudentisdeterminedtonotbemakingsatisfactoryacademicprogress,thestudentmayappealthedeterminationwithin ten calendardays. Reasons forwhich studentsmayappeal anegativeprogressdetermination include death of a relative, an injury or illness of the student, or any other allowablespecial or mitigating circumstance. The studentmust submit a written appeal to the school on thedesignated form describing why they failed tomeet satisfactory academic progress standards, alongwith supporting documentation of the reasons why the determination should be reversed. Thisinformation should include what has changed about the student’s situation that will allow them to

achieve Satisfactory Academic Progress by the next evaluation point. Appeal documents will bereviewedandadecisionwillbemadeandreportedtothestudentwithin30calendardays.Theappealand decision documentswill be retained in the student file. If the student prevails upon appeal, thesatisfactory academic progress determination will be reversed and federal financial aid will bereinstated,ifapplicable.
RE-ESTABLISHMENTOFSATISFACTORYACADEMICPROGRESS
Students may re-establish satisfactory academic progress and by meeting minimum attendance andacademicrequirementsbytheendofthewarningorprobationaryperiod.
INTERRUPTIONS,COURSEINCOMPLETES,WITHDRAWALS
IfenrollmentistemporarilyinterruptedforaLeaveofAbsence,thestudentwillreturntoschoolinthesame progress status as prior to the leave of absence. Hours elapsed during a leave of absencewillextendthestudent’scontractperiodandmaximumtimeframebythesamenumberofhourstakeninthe leave of absence and will not be included in the student's cumulative attendance percentagecalculation.Studentswhowithdrawpriortocompletionofthecourseandwishtore-enrollwillreturninthesamesatisfactoryacademicprogressstatusasatthetimeofwithdrawal.
REMEDIALCOURSESANDREPETITIONS
Remedialcoursesdonotapplytothisinstitution.However,itispossible(andhighlyrecommended)forstudentstoretakewrittenandpracticalevaluationsinwhichthestudentobtainedalowscore.Studentsmayattendaprogramforwhichtheywerepreviouslycertifiedattheirownexpense.
REPETITIONSFORVASTUDENTS
TheDepartmentofVeteranAffairsdoesnotpermitre-certificationofcoursessuccessfullycompletedinthepast.
EXTRA-INSTRUCTIONALCHARGES
Studentswhofallbelowthestatemandated90%attendancefortheentirecoursewillberequiredtopay$25.00perhourforallhoursattendedafterthemaximumallowedtimeframe.Theadditionalcostwillbeaddedtothestudent’sremainingbalanceaftergraduation.
TRANSFERHOURS
With regard to Satisfactory Academic Progress, a student’s transfer hours will be counted as bothattemptedandearnedhours.Evaluationperiodsfortransferstudentswillbebasedontheamountofhourscontractedwiththestudent.Thefirstevaluationpointwillbeconductedbythemid-pointofthecontractedhoursortheschool’s(Glitz)establishedevaluationpoint,whicheveroccursfirst.

STUDENT GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE
GlitzSchoolofCosmetologywillmakeeveryattempttoresolveanystudentcomplaintthatisnotfrivolousorwithoutmerit.Studentsareallowedtosubmitacomplaintatanytime.Evidenceoffinalresolutionofallcomplaintswillberetainedinschoolfiles.Thefollowingprocedureoutlinesthespecificstepsofthecomplaintprocess.
1. Thestudentshouldregisterthecomplaintinwritingonthedesignatedformprovidedbytheinstitutionwithin10daysofthedatethattheactwhichisthesubjectofthegrievanceoccurred.
2. ThecomplaintformwillbegiventotheschoolDirector(EricMadrid).
3. Thecomplaintwillbereviewedbymanagementandaresponsewillbesentinwritingtothestudentwithin30daysofreceivingthecomplaint.Theinitialresponsemaynotprovideforfinalresolutionoftheproblembutwillnotifythestudentofcontinuedinvestigationand/oractionsbeingtakenregardingthecomplaint.
4. Ifthecomplaintisofsuchnaturethatitcannotberesolvedbythemanagement,itwillbereferredtoanappropriateagencyifapplicable.
5. Dependingontheextentandnatureofthecomplaint,interviewswithappropriatestaffandotherstudentsmaybenecessarytoreachafinalresolutionofthecomplaint.
6. H. Appearance,DressCode,Uniforms:
1.Properattireintheschoolismandatory.Appearanceshouldbeneat,clean,well-groomedwithclothingproperlyfastenedandpressed.Nosoiled,tornorinappropriatedressforaprofessionalenvironmentwillbepermitted.Attireconsideredtobetoorevealingwillnotbeallowed.Shorts,sweatpants,andjoggerswillnotbeallowed.
2.Excessivefacialpiercingjewelryorexcessivemake-upwillnotbewornwhileinschool.“Theme”contactlenses,otherthannormalcolored,willnotbeallowed.
3.Personalhygieneandsanitationarethedailyresponsibilityofeachstudent.Weareincloseproximitytomanypeopledaily.Itisimperativethateachstudentbekeenlyawareofpersonalbreathandbodyodor.Westronglysuggestshowering/bathingbeforecomingtoschool.
4.Atnotimeduringtheday(unlessdesignatedbythecurriculum)arestudentsallowedtoworkonthemselves.Hair,nails,andmake-uparetobedonebeforearrivingatschool.Aprofessionalappearanceintheseareasisessentialtotheoverallimageoftoday’scosmetologist,esthetician,nailtechnician,orbarber.
5.Studentsinviolationofthedresscodewillbeaskedtoclockoutandreturnaftercorrectingtheirattire.TheFacultyorAdministrativeStaffwillhavethefinaldecisiononanyquestionabledresscodeorappearanceviolations.
6.PURSES-Onlyclearhandbagsorpursesareallowedonthepremises.Regularpursesmustbeplacedinthestudent’slockerorleftinthecar.

O.WeaponsinSchool:
Weaponsofanytypearestrictlyforbiddeninschool.Studentscaughtwithaweaponinschoolwillbesenthomeimmediately,theweaponswillbeturnedovertothelocalpolicedepartment,andadecisionwillbemadeastowhetherthestudentwillbeallowedtoreturntoschool.

2.Unexcusedabsences
Thestudentshouldbeawarethatabsenteeismformorethan14consecutivedayswithoutcontactingtheschoolcanresultinthestudentbeingterminatedfromtheprogram.
Beinglateormissingschoolexcessivelycouldresultindisciplinaryaction.
Nocall/noshowabsencesareconsideredunexcusedabsences.Extremecircumstanceswillbereviewedbytheschoolboardfordetermination.
3.ExcusedAbsences
Studentsarerequiredtonotifytheschoolpriortotheirabsenceatalltimes.
Studentsareallowedtoscheduletimeoffonafirstcome/firstservebasis.Studentsarestillrequiredtomeetthe90%attendancerequirementsafterthetimeoffiscalculatedin.
Documentationshallbesubmittedforallunexpectedabsences.
S.EveryInstructorisyourinstructor:
Studentsareexpectedtoreceiveandfollowinstructionsfromeveryinstructoraswellasallmembersofthestaff.Failuretofollowdirectionsfromanyinstructororadministrativeofficerisconsideredaviolationofourpolicy.
T.CreatingaHostileEnvironment:
Itisstrictlyforbiddenforstudentstobehaveinamannerthatcreatesorpromotesahostileenvironment.Thisincludesanyactionsorcommentsdirectedatotherclassmates,instructors,membersofthestaff,orclients.Theserulesapplyatanygiventimeonandoffcampus.Thereisazerotolerancepolicyforthefollowingactionswhetherdirectlyorindirectly:
1. Bullying2. Gossip3. Harassment4. Demeaningcommentaries5. Provocation
NOTE:Physicalaltercationswillresultinimmediateterminationandthelocalauthoritieswillbecontacted.
U.Clock-inprocedures.
Studentsareallowedtoclockinpriortothestartofclass.Onceastudentisclockedinhe/shemustinformtheirinstructorandbegintheirtraining.Nostudentshall,underanycircumstances,clockanotherstudentinorout.Studentswhoarecaughtusingtheclockforanotherstudent,orallowinganotherstudenttoclocktheminorout,couldbesuspendedorexpelledfromtheschool.Studentshaveuptotendaystoquestionanyclockedhourdiscrepancies.Forthatreason,werecommendthatallstudentsprintandreviewtheirclockhoursattheendofeveryweek.Studentswhoforgettoclock-inmustpaya$5.00clockadjustmentfee.
V.Theft

Studentswhoarecaughtstealingonschoolpropertywillbeterminatedimmediately.Thisruleappliestoallformsoftheftregardlessofwhothevictimis.
W.Suspensions
Suspensionsapplytoactivedays(daysofattendance)only.Suspensionsdonotextendthecontracttimeallotted.
Violationoftheaboverulesandstandardsmayresultindisciplinaryactionuptoandincludingterminationfromtheschool.Theschoolreservestherighttoterminateanystudentwhosepersonalconducttowardsschoolstaff,clients,orfellowstudentsisdeemedunsatisfactory.Re-admittancetotheschoolwillbeattheSchoolBoard’sdiscretion.
LeaveofAbsencePolicy:
LeavesofAbsencecanbegrantedincasesofemergencyorextremecircumstances,whichcauseattendancetobeimpossibleorimpractical.AstudentwhoisgrantedaLeaveofAbsencebyGlitzSchoolofCosmetology,isnotconsideredtohavewithdrawnfromGlitz.ALeaveofAbsencewillextendthestudent’sgraduationdateandmaximumallowedtimeframeforcompletionbythesameamountofdaysgrantedintheleaveofabsence.Inordertobeplacedonleaveofabsenceastudentmust:
A. Havereasonableexpectationthatthestudentwillreturn.B. Submitawrittenleaveofabsencerequestinadvanceunlessunforeseen
circumstancespreventthestudentfromdoingso.a. IntheeventthatastudentisunabletoprovidetherequestpriortotheLOA
duetounforeseencircumstancesGlitzwillcollecttheinformationfromthestudentatalaterdate,reachadecisionbasedontheinformationprovided,anddocumentthereasonforthedecisioninthestudent’sfile.IftheschoolapprovestheLOAthentheLOAwouldbeginonthefirstdatethestudentwasunabletoreturntoGlitzSchoolofCosmetologyduetotheunforeseenevent.

AMMENDMENTS
GlitzSchoolofCosmetologyisanever-changinginstitution.Therefore,itisimpossibletocreaterulesandregulationsthatapplytoeverypossibleinstance.Forthatreason,itwillsometimesbenecessarytoadd,delete,orchangesomeoftheruleslistedinthiscatalog.Theschooladministrationwillmeetregularlytoupdaterulesandregulationsinamannerthatisfairtoeveryone.
TERMINATION
Studentterminationwillbedeterminedbasedonthetypeofviolationaswellastheseverityand/orfrequencyoftheoffense.
CONDUCT
GlitzSchoolofCosmetologyisaplaceofbusinessandbothstaffandstudentsalikeareexpectedtobehaveinaprofessionalmanner.Allformsofoffensivelanguageareprohibited.Studentswillbeaskedtocoverabrasions,excessivebruising,andbitemarksbothforsanitaryandetiquettereasons.
Intrainingtobeaprofessionalcosmetologist,esthetician,barber,ornailtechnician,youmustbeacaring,open-mindedindividual.Youmustuseyourtrainingandknowledgetosatisfytheneedsandwantsofeveryclient.Youmustbeabletoputyouregoandproblemsasideinordertobeacontributingmemberoftheteam.Youmustbeanexcellentcommunicator.Thisrequirestheabilitytolistenandobserve,toconsultwithandsuggestideas,services,andproductstocolleagues,instructors,management,andclients.
Professionalismcanbeseenandfeltinaschool,salon,spa,oranytechnicalbusiness.Itisabalancedcombinationofchoiceofwords,toneofvoice,physicalactions,education,technicaltraining,determination,honesty,goodjudgment,decisionmaking,cleanliness,sharpappearanceandtalent.
GlitzSchoolofCosmetologymaintainsalowstudenttoinstructorratiotoensurethehighestqualityeducationpossible.Forthatreason,thereareseveralinstructorspresentatanygiventime.Itisnecessarythatyouunderstandthateveryinstructorisyourinstructor,includingthosefromanotherdepartment.
Publicsanitationispartofyourcurriculumaswellasastaterequirement.Studentsareexpectedtomaintainacleanworkstationthroughouttheday.Studentsarealsorequiredtocleanotherareas(includingrestrooms)aspartoftheirdailyandclosingduties.
