Cultural Quarter and St. George’s Area of Leicester.
12noon - Welcome speech with The Lord Mayor Of Leicester and performance by Leicester Morris Men
12.30pm: Bill Brookman’s fun show Expect madcap music and mirth, songs and stories based on St. George and the Dragon.
1pm: DinosaurusDinosaurs walked the earth around 68 million years ago and the Tyrannosaurus rex or T. rex was the undisputed king of them all. Did you know that Rex means king? Orton Square will host a walking recreation of T. rex. This mighty beast will be a wonder to behold as it walks around the square. Make sure you are ready for a picture!
1.30pm: Maypole dancingA fun opportunity to join in with experienced dancers to take a turn around the maypole and enjoy a St. George’s Day tradition.
2pm: Leicester Morris MenTraditional dances for St. George with the ever-popular Leicester Morris Men.
2.30pm: Knights & princesses parade with Sylvesta the JesterJoin the parade of knights and princesses around Orton Square, led by Sylvesta the Leicester Jester. There will be prizes for the best costumes. To enter please go to the Information Point on Orton Square by 2.15pm.
2.50pm: Parade prize giving and dragon trail prize draw
3pm: DinosaurusLast chance to see T. rex walk around Orton Square.

Genii Productions: Arts tent full of activities with lots of things to draw and make, including shields and decorations for young knights and princesses.The Book Bus: Books to read and storytelling sessions.Face Painting: based in the Arts tent.Focus: Get creative with this Leicester based charity with lots of things to make and do on the theme of St. George.

Printmaking activities11am – 2pmLeicester Print WorkshopWhat’s your tribe? Take a spin on heraldry and make your own sign. Inspired by fabulous beasts, new and old, print your own colourful tribal emblem. See if you can spot the mythical eagle and dolphins on the printing press to inspire your design.
Family activities, entertainment and live music11am – 4pmLCB DepotPop in to LCB Depot for creative family activities, entertainment, and live music. Look out for more food, drink and other surprises inside and outside in our rear courtyard. See the exhibitions DMU Fine Art State of Art 3 in our Lightbox Gallery and Stephen Lawrence Day Posters in our Print Room. Relax at Gray’s Coffee Shop & Kitchen – open for fresh seasonal food, refreshments and free Wi-Fi.
Open studio and workshops12noon – 6pmTwo Queens GalleryTake a sneak peek behind the scenes at Two Queens artist-run gallery and studios and see work in progress by resident artists and associate members.

Colour Me Roarsome!11am – 4pmNew Walk Museum & Art GalleryA fire-breathing dragon has escaped into our Victorian Art Gallery, but he’s looking a little pale. Help us add colour to our giant dragon collage by creating and decorating his paper scales.
St. George’s DayTuesday 23 April Leicester Market Fun activities on a St. George theme with lots to see and do for children and families.
