AGENDA

•  Explain Business Process. •  Challenges/Issues in Business Process. •  Role of Oracle in simplifying Business Process by addressing

issues. •  Oracle Modules involved in supporting Business Process. •  Benefits of using Oracle. •  Different setups across Oracle Modules to support Business

CORPORATE STRUCTURE

•  Global Company •  Operates in Multi-Region. Each Region has

multiple Zones. •  Each Zone has its own multiple distribution

warehouses •  Independent Planning for Each Region •  Common Manufacturing base for all regions

BUSINESS PROCESS-DEMAND MANAGEMENT

•  Forecasting by Regional Planner •  Submission of Forecast to World Wide Planner •  Collection of Forecast by World Wide Planner •  Estimation of total demand •  Estimation of total supply •  Estimation and Allocation of Constrained

Demand on the basis of total Supply

FACTORS CONSIDERED FOR ALLOCATION

•  Corporate Strategy •  Product Life Cycle •  On-Hand and In-Transit stock •  Manufacturing Capacities •  Promotions •  Sales in Past •  Requested Demand in Past

CHALLENGES

•  Lack of Visibility •  Incomplete information of Turnkey Partners/Suppliers/

Contract Manufacturer •  Lack of Comprehensive tool to absorb all information •  Complexity of Process •  More focus on non value added activity

BENEFITS

•  Transparency •  Ownership of information lies among all rather than

planners •  Common repositories •  Simplicity of process •  Focus on Value added activity •  Analyses at different levels

SOLUTION DETAILS

•  Primary Modules – ODP – ASCP

•  Secondary Modules – All Supply Chain Module

FUJITSU CONSULTING

ODP

•  Information required for Analyses –  Total Forecast –  Constrained Demand –  On-Hand –  In-Transit –  Backlog

•  Different Streams to pull these information in ODP •  All Streams need to be in sync with Geography

dimension to accommodate level ‘Region’

ODP-Level Region

•  Accommodate Region in ODP –  Define Zones in Shipping Module –  Define Region for each Zones in DFF –  Define Custom Level –  Modify Existing Zone Hierarchy in Geography

Dimension

ODP-On Hand & In-transit

•  For On-Hand and In-transit Information, organizations are need to map with Ship to Locations to align it in Geography dimension.

•  For this requirement, following dummy setups are required –  Define Dummy Planning Customer which has

addresses same as location of organizations –  Define Lookup code to map organizations with

Dummy Ship to Locations

ODP-Backlog

•  For Backlog, the demand should be represent in that region where material will be shipped.

•  Challenge in Backlog information –  All Customers are not collected in ODP, hence

Backlog information for non collected ‘Ship to Locations’ will come at All Geographies in Zone Hierarchy-Geography Dimension.

•  For this requirement, following logic will work –  Ship to Location>Country>Zone>Region

ASCP-Constrained Demand

•  Demand Qty by due date •  Total Demand by Material Available Date

KEY POINTS

•  In the entire solution, there should be association of Demand from ODP to ASCP. To achieve it, the Scenario output level can have any value other than ‘All Geographies’ for Geography Dimensions.

•  Constrained Planning – Setups of all Constraints in system.
