Transcript of Facilities Green Team – What is Cardboard

May 2014CareFusion has implemented a Green Plan awareness.1. How can you be involved or be a big part2. By reducing our carbon foot print2. Reduce costs by recycling2. Disposing of waste correctly and keep it out of our landfill3. Great examples of things I found on the manufacturing floor that are still considered cardboard – considered recyclable3. The only thing that we should find in the trash cans should be cardboard with green styrofoam and regular stryfoam.

Facilities Green Team – Plastic vs recycled bag

5 reasons to use Reusable Bags

Plastic bags make up over 10% of washed-up debris polluting the US coastline

In the US alone approximately 100 billion new plastic bags are used per year – The average person will use between 350 – 500 new bags per year.

Facilities Green Team – Impact on the Environment

Light exposure dissolves the toxic polymer particles. Most often this happens when they are in the ocean.

An estimated 1 mil birds and 100,000 turtles and other seaanimals die of starvation each year after ingesting discardedplastic bags which block their digestive tracks.
