Science BasedEvidence-Based Ayurveda (SBEBA) is the integration of the best Science Based Evidence in Ayurveda with the clinical situation and the patient .

DO THIS • Attend all the SBEBA sessions.• Each week during your clinical

encounters generate questions about patient care you would like to try and answer in the mode of SBEBA.

• Apply and teach what you learn.• Become scientific practitioners of

Ayurveda.

Steps in Practicing SBEBA1. Confirm what you really want to do and

how you will do. 2. Seek science based

guidelines(evidence) for step 1 .3. Appraise the evidence in the

sequential order of Evidence Triad Approach ( Silver- Golden- Diamond)

4. Integrate the Diamond evidence with the clinical situation in the patient.

Putting Skills into Practice• Seek Evidence Triad Support for clinical

decision made on each of your inpatients.

• Seek Evidence Triad Support for clinical decision made on your OP patients

• Encourage the students and colleagues you work with to follow your lead.

• Work as a team to seek and appraise the Science Based Evidence Based protocols.

Duration of CME

• The time duration of each CME proposed in every alternate month is 14 hours distributed in two days .

Basics Training

• Training on Basic principles will be provided before commencing the SBEBA modules .

• Training will be offered in initial introductory session of the training programme .

Case discussion

• The last hours will be devoted for case discussion which may include rare cases also.

Knowledge of Basic Science is the backbone of practicing SBEBA. It

takes constant practice to accurately learn and apply

Science.

Evidence Triad Approach

• Evidence Triad Approach (ETA) is a novel technique introduced by Dr Rajkumar and Dr. Remya Krishnan for standardised decision making in diagnosis and treatment of Ayurveda.

• The technique is published in the book “Evidence based Ayurveda &Rational prescribing ”( Dr.Remya Krishnan , 2012)

Focus scarce learning time on the pertinent evidence directly relevant to patient situation .

• Intense and complete learning of the situation based on Science.

• Appraise the knowledge by the technique of ETA (Evidence Triad Approach).

• Help to model life-long learning techniques for our colleagues and students.

• Reinforce the satisfaction of finding the right scientific evidence that enable us to go for the best optimised decision making in clinic .
