Encardio-rite has excellent manufacturing and test facilities
which include, temperature and environmental testing
chambers, vibration test facility, dead weight testers,
accelerated life testing facilities and bonding laboratories.
Encardio-rite excels in both vibrating wire and resistive strain
gage technology for sensors. The company ranks among the
few organisations in the world manufacturing international
quality vibrating wire instruments. Vibrating wire sensors
manufactured by Encardio-rite are one of the finest being
produced anywhere in the world. A large number of our sensors
are of stainless steel construction, hermetically sealed by
electron beam welding under a vacuum of 0.001 Torr inside
them, resulting in IP-68 protection. This results in sensor being
almost completely resistant to effect of corrosion and ingress of
moisture and water.

Model EVDV Vista Data Vision software
The web based data monitoring service (WDMS) is a web-
based data-management and presentation tool for data
collected by model EDAS-10 data acquisition system from
a project site. The system handles all data processing
requirement, starting with collection and storage of data,
performing the required calculations on the data,
presenting the results in graphical and numerical format
and generating alarm messages.
The monitoring software is server based. Users interact
with the software using their web-browser, when
connected to the Internet, from any location in the world.
It also allows multiple authorized users at different
locations to view any data or report from the same project
site simultaneously. The graphs & reports can be viewed
using popular web browsers like Microsoft internet
explorer or Mozilla Fire fox amongst others.
The server for the above WDMS services is located at the
Encardio-rite premises and is maintained 24 x 7.
Model EVDV software is a powerful data base application
which provides a complete package for data storage,

acquisition system
Multilogger software is a Windows based software for
downloading and analysing data from CR-1000 based
EDAS-10 data acquisition system. Each measurement
channel can be configured for instrument type and
programmed to output temperature corrected data in
engineering units. Alarm limits can also be specified. The
Multilogger uses the entered information to generate an
appropriate datalogger program automatically.
Multilogger includes a powerful data analysis tool
comprised of a data editor, data selector, Excel compatible
spreadsheet, report generator and carting tool.
EDAS-10 delivers accurate and reliable measurement in a
variety of applications. It is most suitable for unattended
or network applications. Various options are available for
connecting the data acquisition system to PC, like RS232C
serial interface, short haul modems, RF modem etc.
Built around the Campbell Scientific's middle level
programmable measurement and control module, the
Encardio-rite data acquisition system is available in
multiple configurations depending upon the type, number
browsing, reporting and publishing to the web with the
support of 3 modules i.e. db.robot.c for storing editing the
data, db.data.browser that allows user to display data
from multiple stations and db.web.browser that allows to
publish and give web access to all data and advanced
reports.

Model EAM-416 multiplexer
Multiplexer allows a number of sensors to be monitored by
a single data logger measurement and control module.
Wherever it is possible to house the data logger
measurement and control module and the multiplexer in a
single cabinet/housing, EAM-416 multiplexer is used. Each
EAM-416 multiplexer can connect up to 16 x 4-wire or 32 x
2-wire sensors sequentially to the measurement and
control module. Compatible sensors include vibrating wire
sensors, thermistors, potentiometers, resistive strain
gage type load cells, tilt sensors with voltage output, soil
moisture blocks etc.
The input lines to the multiplexer can be protected against
lightning induced high voltage transients using the ESP-
216 surge protector card. Each ESP-216 card can protect
up to 16 differential channels.
The complete system includes datalogger, multiplexers,
surge protectors, signal conditioners for vibrating wire
sensors, interface cables, power supply, transfer
softwares, etc. Units are available for up to
16/32/48/64/80/96/192 channels in different size
consoles
Surge protection is built into the BuxMux input and output lines; so
an additional surge protection card is not required.
In the SDI-12 networking system the sensors, multiplexers and
dataloggers are equipped with SDI-12 interface so that they can all
be connected together using a three conductor cable in a bus
arrangement. The SDI-12 system allows a huge reduction in
cabling costs as only a single three conductor cable is required to
interconnect the sensors, multiplexers and dataloggers in a
network that can be spread over a wide area.
Of the three conductors in a SDI-12 bus cable, one conductor acts
as the reference ground (or signal and power supply common), one
conductor is used for transferring the actual digital signal (0-5V
signaling level) and the third conductor is used to carry 12 V DC
power from the datalogger to the SDI-12 interface equipped
sensors and multiplexers.
The SDI-12 sensor networking system components include
Datalogger with SDI-12 interface - CR-1000 or CR-200
Vibrating wire SDI-12 interface (with surge protection) -
model EVM-108 8 channel (8 x 4 wire, 16 x 2 wire) or model
EVM-101 single-channel used with EAM-416 multiplexer to
connect 16 x 4 wire or 32 x 2 wire sensors.

ESCL-10VT, single channel vibrating wire datalogger is designed to
monitor a single vibrating wire sensor, such as a piezometer,
crackmeter or displacement transducer. Data can be stored in Hz or
in engineering units. It has memory to store up to 12,000 readings
with date and time. The minilogger is provided with batteries, RS-
232C interface cable, minilogger manager software and manual.

Model EAM-405B BusMux based system
The EAM-405B BusMux multiplexer can be spread out over a
distance of hundreds of meters from the datalogger and requires
only a single 8 core cable for interconnection in a daisy chain
pattern. This results in a lot of saving in cable cost as wire from
individual sensors are terminated at the nearest BusMux and does
not have to be individually carried to the central datalogger
especially when in a project remotest sensors are some hundreds
of metres from the central datalogger.
BusMux can sequentially multiplex up to 5 x 4-wire or 10 x 2-wire
sensors. These can be field mounted, thus eliminating use of
junction box/switch box. Another advantage is that by using
BusMux it becomes easy to add more sensors to network that had
not been planned for earlier. As the bus multipliers are connected in
a daisy chain fashion one only needs to split or extend the bus cable
to make connection to the additional bus multiplexers (with some
extra cabling and editing in datalogger programming).

EPP-30V is a vibrating wire piezometer
used to measure pore water pressure in soil,
earth/rockfills, foundations and concrete
structures. EPP-30V is of stainless steel
construction and hermetically sealed under
a vacuum of 0.001 Torr. Each sensor has
built-in thermistor for temperature
measurement and surge arrestor for
lightning protection. A glass to metal seal
solder pin connector is provided for easy
cable connection. The piezometers are
very suitable for use as multi-level
piezometers mounted at different levels in
the borehole using the grout–in technique.
Model EPP-30V vibratingwire piezometer
EPP-40V is a small size vibrating wire
piezometer specifically designed to be used
for pore water pressure measurement in
small diameter boreholes and standpipes.
It is of stainless steel construction with
built-in thermistor for temperature
measurement and surge arrestor for
lightning protection. A glass to metal solder
pin connector is provided for easy cable
connection.

EPP-60V is a low pressure sensor

Model EPP-60V vibrating wirelow pressure piezometer
EPP-50V is a push-in type vibrating wire
piezometer, designed to measure pore
water pressure in soft soil/clays and
landfills. It has a pointed cone at one end
and drill rod threads at the other end.
When threaded into a drill rod, the
piezometer can be pushed into soft soil
directly. The cable attached to the
piezometer is passed through the drill rod.
Thread options are EW drill rod thread or
M28.

EPU-20V is a vibrating wire uplift
pressure measurement system that
uses a vibrating wire pressure sensor. It
is designed for monitoring uplift
pressure of water in foundation of dams
and concrete structures. The sensor is
similar to EPP-30V except that instead of
filter, a 25 mm BSP adaptor is provided
for pipe connection. A perforated/non-
perforated pipe is inserted in the
borehole, at the top of which EPU-20V is
attached through valves and fittings.

ESM-11V seepage measurement
system consists of a submersible
cylinder and level sensor to monitor
the water head developed over the V-
notch weir. Change in level changes
the buoyancy on the cylinder that is
measured by the highly sensitive vw
sensor. V-notch weirs additionally

EHP-10 twin tube hydraulic
piezometer comprises of a nylon
piezometer tip and ceramic filter,
connected to a wall mounted

polyethylene sheathed twin nylon

measured at either or both water
tubes by a vibrating wire pressure
sensor and a digital read-out. The
twin tube hydraulic piezometer
system is suitable for measuring
any positive pore pressure or
negative pore pressure up to (-) 5 m

Model EHP-10 twin tubehydraulic piezometer
EGS-30V settlement measurement
system is designed for monitoring
settlement in fills, embankments and
dams, etc. It comprises of a vibrating
wire sensor connected to a reservoir via
a fluid filled polyethylene sheathed twin
nylon tubing. The sensor is installed in
soil fill and the reservoir on firm ground.
As the sensor settles with surrounding
soil, the fluid head at the sensor
increases. The change in measured
head is the settlement relative to the
reservoir.
A manifold system is optionally available
to connect up to seven sensors to the
same reservoir.

The EHOS-35 settlement gage is suitable
for monitoring settlement or heave in
embankments, embankment foundations
and earth dams. It consists of a
graduated standpipe and a sealed
settlement cell with three accesses - first
for an overflow pipe which is connected
by a nylon tubing to the standpipe,
second allows drainage of excess water
from the cell and the third access allows
atmospheric pressure to be maintained
inside the cell. The cell is installed in soil
fill and the standpipe on firm ground
outside the structure. De-aired water is
filled in the standpipe and tubing
connecting it to the cell. Comparing the
water level in the standpipe with earlier
readings taken gives the settlement/
heave to which the cell is subjected.
Model EHOS-35 hydraulicoverflow settlement gage
EHP-30 hydrostatic settlement profiler is
a portable hydrostatic profile gage used
for monitoring vertical settlement or
heave under a dam structure,
foundations or embankment, gas tank
foundation and other landfills and provide
accurate measurement and also
facilitates control of borehole alignment,
levelling of dams and underground pipes.
The sensor gives a measure of the
elevation profile of the pipe relative to the
reservoir located on stable ground.
Settlement study performed at regular
intervals gives the relationship of the
settlement profile with time.
Model EHP-30 Hydrostaticsettlement profiler
ESM-30V is a high sensitivity liquid level
settlement measuring system that uses
low range vibrating wire force transducer.
It is designed for remote measurement of
minute differential settlement in tunnels,
bridges and buildings etc. with high
precision. Settlement of any vessel
installed, causes change in its fluid level,
affecting the buoyancy on the suspended
cylinder. The ESM-30V is provided with
two or more settlement systems with
fluid filled vessels interconnected in
series by a fluid filled tube.

EPS-30V-S earth pressure cell is
designed to measure total pressure in
earth fills and embankments. The
flexible, circular flat pressure pad is
constructed from two stainless steel
discs electron beam welded around the
periphery. The pressure pad is
connected to the vibrating wire pressure
sensor through a 6 mm dia x 165 mm
long stainless steel tube. The narrow
cavity inside the pressure pad and tube
is fluid filled. Pressure applied by earth
on the capsule is transmitted through
the fluid to the vibrating wire pressure
sensor, which converts it into an
electrical signal.

Model EPS-30V-S earth/soil pressure cell
EPS-30V-C concrete pressure cell is
designed to be embedded in concrete.
This sensor is similar to EPS-30V-S,
excepting that it has a 600 mm long pinch
tube. After the concrete is cured, to
ensure proper contact between the
pressure pad and the surrounding
concrete, the pinch tube is squeezed to
push the fluid into the pressure pad to
expand/inflate it.
Model EPS-30V-Cconcrete pressure cell
EPS-30V-I interface pressure cell is
designed to measure pressure between
soil and rock or concrete interface. The
construction is similar to EPS-30V-S,
excepting that the diaphragm on

ESC-30V is a NATM style shotcrete-
concrete stress cell designed for
measurement of radial and tangential
stresses in shotcrete tunnel lining. The
cell consists of a rectangular pressure
pad constructed from two stainless steel
plates welded around the periphery. The
pressure pad is connected to a vibrating
wire pressure sensor through a 6 mm x
165 mm long stainless steel tube. The
cavity inside the pressure pad and
pressure sensor is filled with de-aired
fluid. A pinch tube or regroutable
arrangement is provided to inflate the

concentric with the back plate. The

ELC-30S is a resistive strain gage type
center hole load cell used to determine
load in rock bolts, tieback anchors, etc. It
comprises of a cylinder of high strength
steel with eight 350 Ohm resistance strain
gages, wired to form a 700 Ohm bridge.
To minimize the effect of uneven and
eccentric loading, the eight gages are
mounted around the circumference at 45°
to each other. The load cell is hermetically
sealed by electron beam welding making
it immune to ingress of water and to most
corrosive environments.
ELC-31V is vibrating wire type center hole
load cell used to determine load in rock

Thermocouple measurement consists of
a thermocouple wire with two dissimilar
conductors (Copper-Constantan) joined
at one end to form a hot junction. This

At the cold junction compensation (or
reference end), the mV value provided

change in width of a surface crack. It

EMA-11 measuring anchor, also known as
rock bolt extensometer, is a combination of
rock bolt and extensometer. It is used to
determine load exerted on rock bolts. It is a
precision instrument designed to evaluate
anchor system forces and their distribution
within the bolt and hence its safety and
effectiveness. A digital caliper/micrometer
depth gage with a resolution of 0.01 mm is
used to take readings. An electrical head
assembly consisting of four potentiometric
sensors is optionally available for electrical
output.
Model EMA-11 measuring anchor
Model EDS-91 magnetic extensometer system
EDS-92 soil extensometer is designed for
monitoring of soil and rock movement in
embankments and dams. The system
consists of a specially mounted EDE-VXX
vibrating wire displacement sensor installed
inside telescopic protective tubing fixed
between two anchor beams with
connecting rods. Change in relative position
between the anchor beams represents the
deformation taking place and is measured
by the displacement transducer.
Model EDS-92 soil extensometer
EDS-91 magnetic extensometer system
measures settlement or heave in
foundat ions, embankments, f i l l s ,
excavations, etc. The system comprises of
access tube, magnet assemblies and a
portable magnetic probe with reed switch.
The probe is inserted inside the access tube
installed with magnet assemblies at various
depths, to detect the change in position of
the magnet assemblies due to vertical soil
movement. Magnet assemblies suitable for
inclinometer casing are also available.
A similar system for monitoring horizontal
displacement in embankments is available
with a pull cable reel and dead end pulley
assembly.

Model EAN-91M tilt meter
EAN-90M tilt meter is suitable for
monitoring inclination and vertical rotation
in structures such as building, dams etc. It
is a rugged, high resolution tilt meter. The
tilt meter is fixed on a vertical or horizontal
surface by means of an adjustable bracket
and expandable anchor. The tilt meter can
be supplied as a biaxial version in the
same enclosure. It has a voltage output
which can be read by any indicator that
measures differential voltage output and
can also be directly connected to
Encardio-rite data acquisition system.
The sensor is electron beam welded with a
vacuum of 1/1000 Torr inside it.
Model EAM-92m option is available with
SDI-12 interface such that all sensors can
be connected through single bus cable to
the datalogger.

Model EAN-41M tilt meter
EAN-41M beam sensor is attached to the
structures for monitoring any differential
movement and tilting of structures. For
monitoring deflection and deformation of
retaining walls, sheet piling, etc., the
beam sensors are mounted in vertical
strings. The beam sensor can also be
installed in long horizontal strings to
measure differential settlement along
railway tracks, tunnels, pipelines,
embankments, etc.
The beam sensor has a voltage output
which can be read by any indicator that
measures differential voltage output and
can also be directly connected to

EAN-91M tilt meter has similar sensor as
that of model EAN-90M tilt meter. The only
difference is that in EAN-91M, the sensor

available to fix the enclosure on to a beam
of length 1, 2 or 3 m, to be used as beam
sensor (vertical or horizontal mounting).

EAN-25/2M consists of two precision
accelerometers mounted inside a
waterproof stainless steel housing,
fitted with two pairs of pivoted sprung
wheels. The spring loaded wheels help
to position the probe centrally inside the
gage well at any required depth. A six
pin connector is provided for connection

Operating cable graduated at every 0.5

Model EAN-25/2M vertical inclinometer probe
EAN-25/2M-H horizontal inclinometer
probe is designed to take measurement
within horizontally installed inclinometer
casing. It is biaxial and is fitted with two
pairs of pivoted sprung wheels which
can freely rotate on individual bearings.
The rear end of probe has provision to fix
an eye bolt used to connect the pull
cable when taking readings.
Model EAN-25/2M-H horizontal inclinometer probe
EAN-25M vertical inclinometer system is
used to measure lateral movement and
deformation of earth works or a
structure. It provides magnitude of
inclination or tilt and its variation with
time in structures like retaining/
diaphragm walls, piles etc.
EAN-25/M-H horizontal inclinometer
system, provides significant quantitative
data on magnitude of settlement/heave
of foundations and its variation with
time. It also provides the pattern of
deformation, zones of potential danger
and the effectiveness of construction
control measures undertaken.
The inclinometer system basically
consists of inclinometer casings with
couplings, probe with operating cable
and datalogger. Accessories like dummy

ER InclinoView software has been
designed to process borehole data from
Encardio-rite's EAN-26M digital
inclinometer. It is suitable for plotting
mean deviations, absolute borehole
profile, cumulative deviation against
depth and time vs deviation and vector
plots at each depth. It can also plot
checksums for assessment of quality of
data. Plots can be easily switched
between top or bottom reference. The
plots can be viewed along inclinometer
casing grooves or along a skew angle.
Spiral correction can also be applied if
such data is available.
InclinoView allows inclinometer data for
the same borehole to be automatically
correlated for excavation or fills and
benchmark elevation or fill levels with
date can be annotated on the plots. Sub
soil stratigraphy layers can also be
marked on the plots together with user
comments.
InclinoView allows data from a large
number of boreholes from different sites
to be organized and stored on the users'
PC. InclinoView can run on both
Microsoft Windows (XP and later
operating systems) and Linux platforms.
InclinoView
The inclinometer casings may be
installed in a borehole, embedded in fill
or concrete during construction or fixed
to the face of a completed structure.
These are self aligning ABS casings with
longitudinal keyways at 90° for probe
orientation. The casings and couplings
(fixed or telescopic) are joined together
with pop-rivets. Mastic tape is used over
the joints to make a waterproof joint.

EAN-51M is used for real time
monitoring of lateral movement and

structure. Each in-place sensor probe is
fitted with a pair of pivoted sprung
wheels. A string of sensors can be
positioned inside a casing for a complete
deflection profile, using a suspension kit
and placement tube. A suspension wire
rope is also available in case deflection
profile of only part of casing is to be
monitored
EDI-52M in-place inclinometer system
provides a solution in which each
sensor is equipped with SDI-12 interface.
A single 3 conductor bus cable therefore
needs to be threaded in a daisy chain
fashion, connecting each sensor to its
next immediate neighbour and finally to
the top of the borehole and directly to
the da ta l ogge r (w i thou t any
multiplexer).
Several strings of EAN-52M in-place
inclinometer sensors in different
boreholes can be terminated in a single
Data Acquisition System with CR-1000
measurement and control module.

For IPIs using a large number of sensors,
SDI-12 equipped in-place sensors are a
good choice as it will not be possible to
accommodate a large number of
individual signal cables inside the

ESMP-10 comprises of a AISI-304 survey pin

ERT-10B consists of reflectors on both
sides and is mounted on a universal joint.
The target has a small centre hole to
